For the last 2 weeks, since we decided not to do Busch Gardens in protest of Virginia lawmakers decision to make any sort of gay union illegal in that state. No civil unions, no marriage, we'll stay mired in stupidity and bigotry, thanks. (Note: I am not saying that all Virginians are stupid and bigoted. However, your lawmakers suck ass.)

So, now the question arises, just what the fuck are we doing from June 25-30th? The answer is: I don't know. I'd like to go somewhere new, and fun, but it's hard to decide. I originally thought about Boston, or one of the Mass suburbs, to get hitched, but with their assholish governor threatening to invalidate any out of state marriage, I'm leaning more towards waiting until the courts strike down the whole out of state thing.

This leaves the question of where to go. For a while, I was thinking about Toronto, since the US dollar is stronger in Canada. But damn, the tax on the flight is just an owie. I can get a roundtrip ticket for $132, but once you add taxes, it ends up being close to $220 per person! Goddamn, that's a little on the pricey side for taxes. Ah well. Then, there was thoughts of Niagra Falls, or Vermont, both of which would be okay, but somewhat problematic. What it boils down to is that we can afford to either fly somewhere that we won't need a car, or rent a car and drive somewhere. It can't be too far away in that case, because we've really only got 5 days. If it's going to take us 2 days up, and 2 days back, it would be kind of silly to go anywhere major.

There's also been discussion of just doing a road trip, which might be cool as well, and may be what we end up doing. *shrug* We shall see. I just want to do something fun and relaxing. But in the meantime, I'll be over here, whacking my head into things whilst surfing the net for deals.

If you still want an amusement park, have you considered Ohio? I've dreamed of going to Cedar Point. It's supposed to be the best amusement park. Also, if you're really adventurous, you could hit Kennywood in Pittsburg on the way there or back. (I love Kennywood!)

I'm looking into Cedar Point, actually. I've got a brochure coming from them in the next 2 weeks. And oddly, I was considering Pittsburgh as well. There was a really cute zoo up there that we visited, and I was thinking about checking out Kennywood and Idlewild. We used to go to Idlewild when I was little, so there's definite nostalgia there.

BTW...

Since you've been to Kennywood, how does it rate on the fat-ass scale? (that being, will my butt fit on the roller coasters?) Hershey sucks, since Shelly can barely squeeze a size 20 on the Great Bear, and Busch Gardens is pretty good, accommodating a size 24 with ease.

Hmm. It's been a few years since I've been to Kennywood. I think it's okay. Some of their older rides might be a problem, but I just really can't recall if the seats are divided in the middle or not. I'll ask Chris if he remembers. He's been there many, many times (his family is from Pittsburg).
