I could cheerfully go back to bed right now. Seriously.
As usual, my day off was busier than most work days. Unusually, it was actually a good day for me.
We got up nice and late, and ate a leisurely breakfast. Then, we went up to a bike rental place on the NCR trail, and rented two GT Dyno Glide bikes. (Have found the kind of bike I want, btw.) Rode for about an hour, with frequent rest breaks, as neither of us have ridden in the last 8 years (for me, it's been closer to 18). NCR trail, being an old railroad bed, is relatively flat, and is well paved with packed crushed white stone, making it an easy ride for newbies. We only rode about 2 miles, but for a first time, it wasn't half bad, I don't think. Will begin working on the stationary bike more often, and hopefully will make it much further next time.
It's a beautiful trail, wooded with the Gunpowder river winding along beside much of it. (can't wait to go back for tubing in the summer-may bike up as far as Monkton, then lock the bikes, and tube down to the car, then drive up to get the bikes.)
Finished up feeling happy, de-stressed and so grounded, I could have slept in a ball on the river's banks. Instead, we went and got lunch at BajaFresh, which was very tasty, and restored some of my energy (note to self: Next time, eat something with more substance than crappy cereal, and take water and trail mix along on ride.) Today, I'm a little stiff, but nothing horrible.
Had the puppy's last class, which he mostly behaved himself for. I enjoyed the class, but I can't say that I'm sorry to have it end. I was really coming to resent having my day off hijacked by the damn thing. It was at 6:15, which is a horrible time for a class. We couldn't really go anywhere, because we had to be back so early. I'm looking forward to having all day. Annapolis, here we come!
Now, I shall do some work. Yeah, I'm surprised by it, too. *grin*
