I realized that I've pimped the hell out of this on communities, without ever bothering to pimp it here! *grin*

Most of you know that I've been taking my classes to become a Priestess within my coven. To do this, we require a certain amount of community service/outreach. Since it turned out that the Towson UU church is a pain in the ass, and renting space was too expensive, we decided that instead of doing a 101 Paganism class, we would do a webzine for our outreach.

With [livejournal.com profile] alysonwonderlan's kick-ass web design, and tireless work, the first issue of Dawn Rising is online!

Take a look, see what you think! Tell me about it! I wanna know what you like/dislike. What you want to see in the next issue! *grin*

This concludes our test of the pimpage broadcast system.

All righty. You'd think by now I'd know better than to try posting before I've eaten breakfast, which is my caffiene free life's version of my morning coffee. If I tended toward the incoherent, my deepest apologies. What I meant to say was that once you click on the heading for a subsection, those links (like the one about finding your own path) are a little hard to read for me. Mind you, I've had a mac for all of 3 days, well, unless you count my very first mac SE back in college, but since that was a B&W monitor and predated the web, I wasn't planning on counting that one.

At any rate, I didn't know whether the links were coming up that way because of the mac/pc color thing or because of the mac/pc color thing combined with my less than ideal lighting conditions in my house (all my windows face either west or east, so the ambient light level is a bit, shall we say, extreme.)

I actually really like the main graphic and the overall color scheme. Plus, the design is really easy to navigate and the links to the various subsections look really good, at least from where I sit. I just am still adjusting to life with a mac, which isn't bad just different, from life with a pc, so I figured I'd mention it.

Also, before I forget, I was thinking, I really should have sent you my corn chowder recipe in addition to the marinades. Should I send that along? I don't know how much grilling you like to do, or as I mentioned to T., if you even eat meat. And I've never tried either marinade on tofu, though I suspect that the teriyaki one works fine.

Ah! I understand now. Some of the difficulty may be the differences between mac and pc colors. However, I know that the link colors are not necessarily optimal at the moment and that's because Dreamweaver, while an excellent tool for designing websites, is a >bit< limiting. It wouldn't allow me to have links that were two different colors on the same page, so I had to find a color that would be visable on the dark purple background AND on the white background. A difficult problem as you may have gathered. But, the link colors are very definately temporary - all those sorts of problems should be resolved with the next issue.

As for marinades, yes, I am a meat eater and I would love to taste some tasty marinades. And I'll hand them off to my vegetarian friend so she can try them with tofu, or shrip, or whatever it is that she's eating this week. :-)
