It's Thursday! So so close to the weekend that I can taste it. It is really icky out today. Watching people try to get in their icy cars. I'm yet again so grateful that I don't have to go anywhere but my kitchen. This is apparently the first salvo of a string of shitty weather. Saturday we're having a "wintery mix" then next week, we're getting 4-8" of snow on Wednesday into Thursday.
My sister, who manages two sites, is supposed to be going to Boston for a business trip. She leaves on Wednesday, when we're supposed to have a lot of snow, so we'll see. Then she's due to have 3-5" while in Boston. We'll see how her travel goes. I'm not looking forward to losing two nights of sleep to having to sleep with the dog, but oh well.
Yesterday, Jess made dinner, so I ran over to get the last package from Sam's club, and check the mail at the house. It was mostly junk, but a few things had slid through the mail forward. And there was a box stuffed into our mailbox (barely). When I got home, the dog's Farmer's Dog food had come in, so I had a bunch of boxes to open.
When I finally got into it, I was surprised to find a nice Stanley-style glass, and a letter congratulating on my one year anniversary with Hopkins. I know in my heart that it cost them less than a dollar, but I will admit, I was still kind of touched.
It seems like a decent cup, so I will definitely give it a try.
Jess made the best braised lemon chickpeas. They were very good over rice. We've been eating well the last week.
Tonight, I think I'm going to just order from Sams or something. The chicken isn't quite defrosted, and even if was, I don't have my yogurt for schwarma. Of course, I just realized that I need mint for the yogurt sauce for that. Hm. Might have to switch the order to somewhere else and get some. I'll look and see who has mint. Maybe food lion.
Then, I'll go digging into the freezer and see if I can find the stew meat for Saturday, so we can have beef stew.
Everyone have an amazing Thursday!
