Today shall be a quiet day until 5:30 when we shall play D&D. I may have to take my sister to the laundry, but aside from that, I'm just going to relax and take it easy.
Yesterday was a busy day for us. I started out with work for four hours. It was a good shift, where I got to help some people to get in sooner for their appointments, which always makes me happy. While I was working, Jess went for their acupuncture appointment. They got home around 11:30 and I was done work at 12.
I had half an hour to make more coffee, and get set up, and then we jumped right into out Mad Mage game. It lasted about 2.75 hours, of delicious backstory reveals and combat and ended on a wicked cliffhanger. Fight a full lich at level 13? Sure, go for it! He has Power Word Kill, and only half the party has hitpoints over 100.
After that, it was a fast dinner at Nandos, and then off to see Deadpool and Wolverine. I will say there was one thoroughly unnecessary "joke" at about the 2/3 mark of the movie that threw me out for a moment. They used an unneeded and completely nonsensical slur that really did not make me happy. Aside from that one shitty thing, I loved the movie. If you can, go in unspoiled, because the cameos are jaw droppers. The first one especially made the theater audibly gasp. It was ultra violent and profane and I am honestly shocked that Disney didn't veto it. There was also SO much fan service. It made my internal comics fangirl happy. And outside of that, there was a certain sweetness and sincerity to it. I wasn't expecting the sincerity and it made me wibble a bit at a couple of points. So all in all, aside from that one moment, I really loved the movie. I might go see it again to catch the jokes I probably missed.
Then it was home to relax and take a nap. In my searching for a county to immigrate to if things go to shit, I discovered Portugal's port wine. Last night we tried white port, with tonic water. It was so fucking good, and I loved it. Dangerously smooth and sweet, though. You barely know you're drinking liquor.
Okay, now I am going to go to the butcher and get some meat and cheese, because I forgot I needed some, so it's not going to be as relaxing as I orignially thought. Everyone have an excellent Sunday!
