beansideGood lord I hurt today. Last night after our MotW game, I was going down the stairs to go to bed, and my knee was hurting as occasionally happens when you're 51. However, I was so focused on it that I missed the second to last stair, and went sailing down to land with what sounded to me like a loud slap of skin on floor, but Jess assures me was more of a mighty thud. I'm fine, but my entire left side hurts like hell. I have a giant bruise that goes from mid thigh up to my ass, and my ankle is aching.
I'm moving very slowly, so of course this is the day I have to do things. Yoda has his grooming appointment today, so that'll be fun. Jess seems to be coming down with a cold, so they can't do it.
Most of the day was okay, but the beginning and end rather sucked. I went out to go get groceries in the morning, and my car wouldn't start. It appears that when my sister was getting out of the back on Christmas, she may have hit the dome light. Which then remained on all night. So, the battery was very dead. I cussed a bit, and then went on the Geico app and requested roadside.
Thankfully, they showed up relatively quickly, and I was able to get underway. I ran it to the grocery store (Where I thankfully had curbside pickup), and back and then anxiously turned it off and back on. It started, so I was grateful. Then, it was off to the hospital to visit dad.
He seems to be doing well, though his labs are still not amazing, but seem to be improving for the moment. They're waiting for physical therapy to come in and evaluate him, so rehab is not 100% certain, though his doctor seems to think it's likely. Apparently, they're backed up, so we're not sure wehn they'll be seeing him. Might be today, might be a couple of days.
Then we came home and relaxed. During that stretch, I realized that I wanted to play something, so I put the call out on the server for a Monster of the week game, and got three takers, so that was a nice way to spend the evening.
Today, I shall get my ass together and take Yoda to his grooming appointment, and then I don't know. I'll pick him up, but I really don't know if I can do the hospital today. It might have to be my sister, and I'll go tomorrow. I just don't think I can make the walk from the car to his room. Even if Jess takes me, I think it might be painful.
Okay, time for me to hop off and drink some coffee and consider putting on pants. Everyone have a wonderful Wednesday!
