beansideAnd we're back to Monday again. 5:15am came early. It didn't help that I didn't wake up around 4 like I normally do, so I didn't take my Rybelsus early. So now I have to sit here for another 15 min with no coffee or anything else. I have ginger molasses cookies just waiting to be dipped in nice hot coffee, but alas.
Today and tomorrow, we have police protocol. Not looking forward to it all that much. I mean, the protocols are interesting. I like the idea that I don't have to come up wiht shit to say on my own. I just click the answers to the protocol questions and it tells me what to ask next. But, on the downside, the protocols are really dry to teach. And we're learning them on these little flippy card sets, but on the floor, we'll be using the incredibly easy software. But we have to learn, in case the software ever goes down. Test for that is tomorrow.
Once we finish that, it's Fire protocol, whoo. Test for fire protocol is on Thursday.
I've only got 2 weeks left of the Academy. Then, I get handed over to my trainer to begin the process of getting me on the phones. That training will last for a few months. Six weeks will be on the day shift. (mind you, our weeks last 8 days, because we do five on, three off. I'm waiting to hear what my rotation means as far as what days I'll be on. I'd like to know, so I can reschedule our day games. Here's hoping for a rotation that allows me to work on the holidays. Thanksgiving and Christmas are what they call "Super Holidays," which means that you get triple time for them.
I would be perfectly okay with working holidays if I get triple time. I'm also okay with getting double time for the rest of the holidays. Though it makes IKEA's time and a half on a select few holidays look really sad. I'm going to get double time for Veteran's Day, y'all.
Aside from that, nothing major going on. Okay, time to get myself together. I want to stop for coffee on the way. I need a nitro cold brew. Everyone have an excellent Monday!
