And it's morning again! I am again not ready for it to show up so early. I slept really well...until about 1am. Boodle kindly decided that I was her mattress for multiple hours, and I guess 1am was when my sinuses hit saturation point of cat hair. I woke up sneezy and wheezy. Took some Benadryl and while I waited for that to kick in, I figured I'd see if the two books we'd preordered had gone into the library of my Kindle.
Of course, that led to me opening the book and going "I'll just read a chapter."
Readers, I did not read "just a chapter." I finished the whole damn novella before I went back to bed at 3am.
So, Thornhedge by T.Kingfisher? Awesome! Not my favorite of her books, but still warm and cosy and sweet in the most fucked up way. I am not at all sorry that I lost 2 hours of sleep to read it--it was 100% worth it.
I think the next book I have preordered isn't for a month or so when the next Seanan McGuire Toby Daye book comes out the same day as John Scalzi's Starter Villain.
Today, I shall have the inbox, so I'll be at least moderately busy at work. I'll also be sick of doing Not at home cases in 10 min flat. Yesterday was pretty boring. I worked on a file for the OD of stuff that needed to be cancelled and then in the pending returns queue. Very exciting.
After work, I looked at Crumbl cookies to see what their cookie flavors were for this week. One was peanutbutter cookies and I had a sad. Mom used to make Dad peanut butter cookies when she'd make Christmas cookies. I mean, ostensibly they were for everyone, but mostly he ate them. And I realized that he hadn't had one since she started having heart problems. And I don't have the recipe, so he won't have another. So, I did the next best thing and went out to get him a fucking peanut butter cookie.
Okay, I'm definitely going to go get some more coffee now. I'm going to need it. Everyone have an excellent Tuesday!
