I hate summer storms. I'm sure I've mentioned that, but when the weather mentions "strong storms, I get anxious. I'm not sure what I think will happen, but it freaks me out. I had a bad experience at Hershey Park, where we were having severe storms and lighting was hitting the rollercoaster tracks directly above us, and since then, I have been panicky about storms. If there's a chance of tornadoes it's even worse. (There's a low chance of tornadoes today, thankfully--though not absent.) This particular phobia feels really dumb, but I can't quite shake it.
Spent the weekend enjoying con.txt. It was (as usual) a lovely con filled with awesome people and fun panels. Depending on my tolerance of noise, panels can be difficult, but I made it to a few. Sometimes, because the sound quality can vary on zoom, it can bother me. To be honest, I have that problem playing D&D once in a while. Whenever I get on to play, you can bet I've had ibuprofen, caffeine and an anti anxiety pill. Between that and the little hit of serotonin, I don't normally have problems.
Yesterday afternoon was spent doing some housekeeping on the D&D server. One of our members mentioned that she wasn't sure how to ask to be in a game, plus we got like five new people over the last week, so I figured it was time to update. With help from
poisontaster,
nilchance,
coyotegestalt and
chaneen I hammered out a FAQ that lays down some basic information, and created a channel for help and FAQ. Then, I added a resource channel for picrews, game systems, etc. Then, we moved some campaign channels to "Past campaigns." Hopefully, it'll make the server an even better place to hang out.
Today, back to work. Ew. I shouldn't have a ton to do, since I'm assuming that my coworkers did my markets (this may be wildly optimistic). But either way, it won't take me long to get caught up. Which is good, since it'll be our first "strong storm" since getting the new internet, so we'll see how it goes.
Tomorrow, I had taken off for Dad's doctor appointment, but the doctor's office called to say he'd be coming at 4:30 instead of 12:30, so I was able to give the day back, and now I have a reasonable amount of PTO again, yay!
Okay, time for me to get ready for work. Everyone have an amazing Monday!
