beansideMonday was not all I hoped that it would be to say the least. It seemed like it was going to be a nice normal day. Then, the home health came to visit and said that Dad's heart rate was very high, and she felt that he needed to go to the ER. So, off to the ER he went. I called out half a day of work and went as well.
Once at the ER, his blood pressure started going down seriously low, so they topped him up with a lot of fluids, which did absolutely nothing. Then, they started him on a Norepinephrine drip, which did the trick. Unfortunately, due to the drip, he had to go to the ICU for close monitoring. I sat in an uncomfortable chair for about 7 hours, and my god, I am sore today.
I just checked his patient portal, and it looks like his blood pressure did pretty well through the night, though his bloodwork actually looks worse. His white count has gone up and his hematocrit has gone down. So basically, I have no fucking clue what's going on, and I will fight them if they try to send him home without figuring this shit out.
Today, I have training, so I need him to behave himself for that two hours so I can learn how to do authorizations. Whee, one more thing I won't get paid extra to do. But the job description does say "duties as otherwise assigned," so I suppose I will suck it up and do some authorizations.
No games this week until Friday, when I have my con.txt game. I have no idea how many people have signed up, so we'll see what it looks like come Thursday when the server officially opens. I know I have at least three people from the regular server, so, if nothing else, I've got them.
Hopefully, tomorrow will be a quiet day, though I feel like my boss will be up all of our asses about the meeting on Thursday, so maybe not. I will probably poke at my notes some more today, but I think I've got most of what I need to say down.
One nice thing about yesterday, I had ordered a couple of shirts for the meeting, and they came a couple of days early! They're very pretty and super comfortable, so I was pleased. Not bad for a $15 shirt. I don't want to go in there looking full business, because IKEA's dress code is jeans and tshirt. But I also don't want to look like a total schlub. So, I've got some nice capri jeans and I'm planning to get my toenails painted on Wednesday so I can wear my pretty sandals. The new tops are kind of a dressy knit, and. I'm going to paint my nails to match my toenails and wear a coordinating mask. Hopefully, I strike the right balance.
I suppose I should get dressed and get myself ready for the day at work. I'd really rather go back to bed. But on the other hand, I like money, so I shall deal. Everyone have a fantabulous Tuesday!
