We've made it to Friday!! It's been A Week. Hell, since this all started in January, it's kind of been a year. But most definitely a week.

I went to visit dad yesterday and he was doing a little better. He was still a bit confused, but seemed a bit more with it. I've been watching his progress on the patient portal. I'm sure they'll do more bloodwork today, and we'll see where all his enzymes are. His heart enzyme was a bit up, but they're watching it closely. He's on the telemetry ward where they can keep an eye on him.

Aside from that, my day was pretty boring. We put together Dad's overbed table, and got in the chairs. I ordered a single chair and they sent us 10. So, if anyone in Baltimore wants some white folding chairs, let me know. Free to a good home.

I'm finding that I'm really angry at the nursing home. He could be starting physical therapy and hopefully improving some, but instead he's lying on his back in a hospital, totally dependent and sick. It's just bullshit. And then there's the EMS who were such total assholes, and here he is admitted. It's just. Things are going to be difficult with him. He's 81, and the last few illnesses hit him hard. It wasn't going to be an easy road, even if he was in the best shape. But we had a chance at a some good time, where he was able to get up, and enjoy playing on his tablet, and reading and listening to music and watching Young Sheldon and Kelly Ripa. And now, I don't know where we're going to be. I don't know if he can bounce back to where he was, or if he's going to be a fully functional lawn decoration.

And it didn't have to happen. If they had started him on antibiotics the day they did the urine culture, he would have come home stronger and we wouldn't have had the Monday from hell. If they had told us they did a culture, we would have at least known. Instead, we spent the week freaking out.

UGH. I don't know if they'd take it, but I think an attorney is going to be contacted. This is just total bullshit.

In good news, it seems like the Kindle is working for my reading difficulties. I've been able to read two books despite the chaos. I'm almost done Legends and Lattes, which I'm enjoying. It's a nice low-stake cozy book, and it's been lovely. I will definitely be waiting for the sequel.

Plus, Fancake recommended me this lovely fic this morning, and I enjoyed losing myself back in SGA for a while.

In order to remain hidden, he has sworn never to use his magic except in the most desperate of circumstances, to save the life of himself or others. But what will happen in the Pegasus Galaxy, where desperate circumstances are commonplace and chaos threatens to overwhelm the expedition at every turn?
