beansideI woke up with a bitch of a headache this morning. I mean, I know why, it's entirely a stress headache, but damn, it's annoying.
Dad was moved up to the intermediate care floor at the hospital. He's still very confused, and his heart rate and occasionally blood pressure is high. The nurse I spoke with yesterday termed him as "very sick" so that's awesome. They're going to do an MRI of his head, presumably to look for a brain bleed or clot or something to explain why he went so far downhill within a week's time.
I'm not sure how, whether they dialed because they thought it would calm him down, or if he somehow dredged it out of what passes for his memory, but he called me at 10pm last night. He informed me that somehow he ended up at a firehouse on the other side of town, and would I come get him. Then he asked how "mom and dad" were. It was a very frustrating call, I have to say. Honestly, I'm not 100% sure that he didn't think I was my mother, since I was not able to drive while my grandparents were both still alive.
Today, after work, I shall go over and see him, and see how things are going. I'm not looking forward to it, but I shall put on the big girl panties and do it. Adulting sucks.
Tomorrow, we have our Frostmaiden mid-week game. I'm very excited. I've been planning to throw something at the party for nearly a month, and I am more than ready. Here's hoping that Dad can behave for a night so I don't have to go over to the hospital and fuck it up. This week is a TTRPG heavy one, with Curse of Strahd on Friday and the long delayed Monster of the Week on Saturday.
Okay, gonna hop off and get myself together for work. More coffee and some ibuprofen are definitely on the list of things I need. Everyone have a wonderful Tuesday!
