beansideIt's a Saturday with no games! Which is kind of weird. I have a whole day to do what I want. Which will probably be finding other things to pack early, and being restless.
We started packing yesterday in earnest. Just the stuff we won't need before Friday, but it made me and Jess feel better. So, as of now, the fancy clothes, the boots and some toiletries are packed. Tomorrow, after laundry is done, we'll probably start on the big suitcase with some daily clothes. Then, on Thursday, we'll send off a small load of laundry to be done by a service, and then we'll finish packing Friday morning.
Aaaah! It's funny, for a while all the shit that we had to do was kind of overwhelming, and I was more anxious than excited. But now that we're down to 6 days, the excitement is kind of starting to win. Best Buy had $50 gift cards on sale for $45, so I bought three of them, and transferred the balance to one of the physical gift cards my sister had given me for my birthday and Christmas. So now, each of us will have $200 to spend on food and souvenirs for the week. (Not including the sit down meals, of course)
Depending on which forecast you look at, we will probably have not horrible weather? Possibly some passing showers, maybe an afternoon thunderstorm one day. Or, if you believe Accuweather, it's going to be constantly sunny? Basically, I have no fucking clue. It will be what it will be. At least they all seem to agree that the temperatures will be lovely. Around mid-70, which is just about perfect. Might be a little chilly for the hot tub, but I honestly don't give a fuck, I'm going to be in there.
Last night, we played Curse of Strahd that ended up being hysterical. The party decided to split, and each one ended up in combat. Two out of the three ran away from the fight, which was wise, since they were overmatched a bit. They've picked up a tiger friend, liberating it from Rictavio, who was going to use it to kill the local Vistani population. It was awesome, and I love my players. I laughed until I wheezed.
Tomorrow we have Lost Mine, and then on Wednesday, we have Blades in the Dark! So many games!
Okay, I'm going to get myself together and see what else I can pack. Also, more coffee. Have a good Saturday!
