It is Friday, yay! Today, I shall take Yoda to the groomer, apologize profusely for his poopy butt, wait for the grocery delivery, pick the dog up, go see Dad and then come home to prepare for D&D. Thankfully, for the Frostmaiden group, it's not a ton of prep. I've read this module SO many times, I just need to glance at it, and we'll be ready to go.

Yesterday felt like an incredibly long day. The morning just dragged, and despite the various meetings, the afternoon was worse. By the time I finished my interview, I was completely done.

It's always a thing when my manager is messaging me at 8:30am to beg for help in the inbox. We've been having issues with outlook, where in the app, I can reply to emails, I see them come in, I can see when they're flagged or marked, but when I try to move or delete, they just sit there. It only does this sporadically, and our IT dept has been useless. It's not just me who's having the problem, so it's making things a little challenging. As a result, the inbox was a clusterfuck, so he went to his old reliables, J & me to fix it. Which, of course, we did, and had it cleared out by 10am. Which meant a lot more piddling around and trying to look busy for any passing managers.

After lunch, it was time for my one on one, which happened only because it's required. It's supposed to be a coaching type thing, but my manager basically said he had nothing to talk to me about. I'm adhering to my schedule, I'm jumping in everywhere to help, I do my own job very well. He is probably going to come down and visit us next Thursday. I had taken the day off, but I told him if he comes down, I will give it back. It'd be nice to meat him in person after over 2 years. Plus, I had just taken the day to be doubly certain that I wouldn't get covid before vacation, and that ship done sailed.

Then, another years long wait, and it was time to go for my interview. The interviewer was very nice, and I went ahead and tooted my own horn like a motherfucker, but I don't think I'm going to get it. The job is just too far outside of my realm of experience, and I think they're going to want someone who won't need as much training. They said I'd hear something by the end of next week. Which in IKEA speak means I'll find out when we get back from vacation, most likely.

Jess' doctor finally called and offered a procedure date of 2/16, which would be the Thursday after we get home. Totally doable. Except that there's bloodwork they need to get 5-7 days before the procedure, and it has to be done at the hospital. While we'll be in Florida. UGH. Jess told them the dates of our vacation, so I'm not sure why they're doing this to them. It's SUCH total bullshit, and now they're sad and I'm cranky at the surgical scheduler. They've got an email into the scheduler letting them know that they can either get the labwork 4 days ahead, or we can reschedule. We'll see what the outcome is.

Then, to top the day, I got home and our heat refused to work. It was 61 degrees in the house, and apparently, I have trauma. I fussed with it to no avail. Then I burst into loud tears. An hour later, my sister got home and it behaved perfectly and came right on. It continues to work just fine, so I'm not sure wtf I was doing that pissed it off.

It is officially 2 weeks until we leave for Disney. AAAAH! WTF, how is it so soon?! Just holy shit, y'all.

Okay, I'm going to get myself some more coffee. Everyone have a wonderful Friday!
