beansideWelcome to the Covid house, population everyone. At least that's my assumption. My sore throat has progressed to some congestion and a low grade fever, though I'm still testing negative. At this point, I'm assuming it's Covid, though I suppose it's possible that in my time visiting Dad in the hospital, I picked up something else. I'll test again around lunchtime and see what it says.
Dad on the other hand, is doing very well. The nice people at the rehab have had him up and working regularly, and he doesn't hate the food! This is a motherfucking accomplishment. I'm sure he'll call me at some point today to tell me more about the old movie channel and what he's watching. Downside, if he's doing so well, he might be able to come home sooner than expected. We'll see what they say. I might try calling over later and seeing if we can get some information on what his timeline is. I was really hoping that he'd be in there until after our vacation, but I've got a feeling that it's not going to happen, so that's a little stressful.
Jess still has a really sore throat and a bit of a cough, but they definitely seem to be on the mend. Which is good. I worry when they don't feel well.
Today, I shall be a lump until our D&D game tonight. I will piddle around online, and maybe watch a movie. I'm hoping that whatever I have continues to behave for the weekend. Right now, I'm coughing just a touch, but my voice seems to be fine. We've also got a game tomorrow, this one a new (to me) system called Blades in the Dark. We're calling it a one shot, but with potential to be more, once another campaign is over.
D&D has really screwed the pooch with their new Open Gaming License. There was a recent leak of the new document that basically says if you make content and put it online, Wizards of the Coast will own it. So, for instance the person who created the battle wheelchair would lose ownership of it. Or the people who have written independent modules (of which there's a ton) would be giving WotC permission to use their characters and plot without compensation. So, until they back off that, I won't be starting any new D&D games or buying anything from them.
Aside from potential plague, not a whole lot going on. I'm just going to relax and take it easy and see how things go.
