It's Friday! Normally, I'd say that it's my day of freedom, but that isn't happening this weekend. In just a little bit of time, my sister will be leaving for her weekend vacation, and three days of 24/7 Dad duty will begin. I want her to have a lovely trip, especially since she's going to be doing the same in February for 9 days, I'm just not looking forward to it. It'll mean sleeping upstairs in her bed with the dog, and I don't tend to sleep very well. With Jess' permission, I may take a nap on Saturday, but since I have to work on Sunday, that's going to kind of suck.
Today, the dog has his grooming, and as always, it's sort of stressing me out. He had a s cyst on his back (the vet checked it, said no big deal) and it popped, so he has a scab stuck in his fur. I'm hoping they don't mind working around that. He did have a poopy butt, but that seems to have all fallen off, so that's good.
I also have a psych appointment at 10:40, so that'll be fun. I've gotta figure out how to explain to him that I cheated on him with Brightside, and that I like the medication they gave me, so I'd like to stay on it, please. I'm sure he'll be fine with it, but you never know.
Okay, sister and BIL have departed after a bit of a tumult. I'm amazed that the dog barking didn't wake my father or Jess, but they are snoozing happily. I hope they have an awesome time in Gettysburg, whatever the fuck they decide to do. BIL is a bit type A, so he has plans. My sister would probably be happy to just relax, but that ain't happening.
I can't say anything, since I have Disney planned so tightly it's amazing Jess hasn't considered smothering me in my sleep. I know exactly what we will be doing at all times. Mind you, I expect this plan to fall apart once we're there, but still.
We're T-minus 4 days until I can make dining reservations. This will require getting up extra early on Tuesday, since reservations open at 6, and for a lot of the restaurants we want, will probably be gone just as quickly. I will probably go ahead and make a reservation for Les Chefs de France on Monday, just to have it, but that's flexible. If we end up eating around the world showcase, I can adjust that. But french onion soup and beef bourguignon! Their food looks amazing. I will probably try to book the California Grill first, since we're going on a Friday night during fireworks. Then Ohana, then Sanaa, then Chefs De France.
Yesterday at work, it was the official kick off to the reorganization. They said they were having all sorts of stuff. A big kick off event with ribbon cutting, lunch, a cocoa bar, a "human timeline" presentation and a 360 photo booth. So, I get to work and half the parking lot is taped off. Not a good first sign. And yes, the ribbon cutting took place outdoors. For 45 minutes. In 40 degree weather. With noisemakers. I was so glad I decided to wear my heavy coat yesterday, because had I worn a sweater, I would've frozen. The ceremony was mostly introductions, a short speech by one of the higher ups, and the ribbon cutting. Totally could have been a Teams call." The human timeline was equally boring and was a few long time coworkers talking about their time with the company. The lunch was good at least. They got us Mission BBQ, which was nice. I had my brownie for breakfast this morning. All in all, it did not get me going IKEA, Rah. It kind of had me going IKEA why?
Rumor is that the bonus will be paid out with our check on December 9th, which is good. It'll let me get a few more Christmas presents. I already have 1/2 of my sister's gifts, which just leaves Dad. I'm thinking that I'm going to get him a couple pairs of pants and a Samsung Watch. Jess is getting tbe Betsey Johnson boots from Torrid, should they ever ship my order, and a trip to Disney.
Okay, I shall now go forth and consider getting dressed for my appointment and to take the dog for his grooming. Also more coffee. Everyone have a great Friday!
