Last day of the workweek for me! I can do this! Even if I'd rather still be in bed. I didn't wake up til 5 minutes before my alarm, which is unusual. Most days I'm up around 5:15 or so. Of course this meant I had to wait 30 minutes before I could have coffee because of the Rybelsus. But it's better than the alternative. I rather like my toes and kidneys.
So, we're getting the bonus, but we have no idea when or how much. Last year, it was on Black Friday, but it doesn't seem to be the case this year. Last year paid out 120%, and this year is 75%, so I'm assuming it'll be about 55% of what I got last year? It would be very nice if it was distributed soon, I've gotta say. Would make Christmas much easier. I mean, I'll appreciate it whenever it shows up, don't get me wrong!
Yesterday was okay, did my markets like a good girl, then kind of sat and did nothing. I knew I had the inbox this morning, so I wanted to make sure everything was finished yesterday. I'm not looking forward to the inbox, but the coworker who normally does it on Wednesday isn't coming in til 1pm, so It's my circus.
We're 72 days out from vacation now, and my excitement continues to build. Disney requires park reservations, so I know what we'll be doing on any given day, which is allowing me to obsess over schedules. I'll be up early every day to score our lightning lanes for the popular rides, but Jess will be allowed to sleep in except for our days at Animal Kingdom (the animals are more active in the morning) and the Magic Kingdom (sleep, who needs sleep).
On Friday, we pick up the car at 12, since I was not trusting my 146000 mile car on a 28hour round trip. Hopefully, brother in law will be over around 1, and we will set out and try to get as far as we can before we stop. Ideally, I'd like to get as far as Savannah, GA, but I'm not holding my breath, since that would be over 8 hours. Then, we will get a hotel room and finish the drive to the Polynesian Resort. We can't check in until 3pm, so no rush on that part. Then, we will crash and possibly soak in the hot tub.
Sunday is our first park day, at Animal Kingdom. After Busch Gardens last October, we know that we're probably only good for about 5-6 hours in a park at a time. So, we're going to go early (I think they open at 8, though they only post hours about 70 days out, but that's the January hours at least) I'm making a reservation around 2 for lunch at Sanaa, which is an Afro-Indian restaurant at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. After that, we'll probably end up going back to the hotel, unless there's something specific we haven't done.
Monday is for Epcot. We have extended evening hours for being in a deluxe resort, so Jess will sleep in, while I get up at 6:30 to score our lightning lane for the new Guardians of the Galaxy rollercoaster. We'll probably get to the park around lunchtime, which will be perfect to make our way around the Festival of the Arts food stalls and snack. The question with this day is whether we'll go back to the Poly around 5 to eat dinner and rest and then make our way back for fireworks and extended evening hours. Probably.
Tuesday is a day of rest. We may go as far as the Grand Floridian Resort, which is one stop on the monorail, to get massages and maybe rent a pontoon boat for an hour. Otherwise, we're just going to take it easy, go swimming, hit the hot tub. Presuming I can score a reservation, dinner will be at Ohana for their all you care to eat dinner.
Wednesday is a big day. Up early to hit the granddaddy of them all, the Magic Kingdom. This is why we're in a monorail resort. We'll get there at opening and ride, ride, ride! Eventually, we'll go back to the hotel and crash for a few hours, eat dinner and come back for fireworks and extended hours. (If February is the same as January, they go til midnight!). I'm going to get a picture with every fucking Character I can find, I swear. I have no shame.
Thursday is another get up late day, though I will be up to score those ever important lightning lanes to Rise of the Resistance (and hopefully Slinky Dog Dash) at Hollywood Studios. We'll make our way here whenever we get around to it, I'm not going to rush after our late night with the Mouse. Not sure how long we'll be staying. They have some rides I want to do, and I'm totally pumped for Star Wars land, but this is the park that excites me least.
Friday, our last full day is back to Magic Kingdom, getting up early to be there for rope drop. We'll spend a while in the park, and then head back to relax for a little while before we head out for our 5pm tattoo appointment. Then, we're off for dinner at the California Grill and to watch the fireworks over the castle one last time.
Saturday is departure day, and again, I'll drive as far as I can before I have to stop. Sunday is home to cuddle the puppy and kitty who I will miss horribly while we're gone.
(People who have been to Disney, if any of this looks like a disaster in the making, let me know.)
Okay, time to get myself ready for work. Everyone have a wonderful Wednesday!
