Normally on Sundays, I drag out of bed resentfully at 6am, but today I was awake at 5:30 and body and brain conspired to make me get out of bed. It's like having a tiny drill sergeant in my brain, yelling "Go, Go Go!" My brain is kind of a dick.
I kind of fucked up this week, and money is going to be really tight, which is kind of flipping me out. The basics are going to get paid, but some things are going to wait, and I'm definitely not hitting any Black Friday sales, which kind of annoys me. It is 100% self inflicted. I forgot about an automatic payment, and that is totally on me.
Yesterday was a day of doing nothing. I did some minor vacation planning, and watched some more of a walkthrough of Epcot. I now know where the Guardian's of the Galaxy rollercoaster is. That's definitely on my list of things to ride, though I have fears that it's going to make me nauseous as hell. We're going to try to ride it at the end of the night, so that all we have to do when we're done is hop the monorail back to the resort. That's really the only ride I'm nervous about-I've watched the ride videos of the others I want to get on, and I think they'll be good. Okay, I'll admit, I'm still in debate about Expedition Everest and the Tower of Terror. Everest makes me nervous because it goes backwards and I've never done a drop tower before, so I'm not sure if I'll like it. I also watched some on ride videos and am very hyped for the other roller coasters like Big Thunder Mountain and Slinky Dog Dash.
I've got 75 days until vacation, and it's starting to seem more real. I have to call on Tuesday and make sure our tattoo appointments are booked. We decided that we'd like to go to the California Grill for the fireworks on our last night, so I'll be booking that in 16 days. I'll be getting up at 5:30 that day and having all my tabs open to book Ohana and California Grill. I'm less concerned about getting our Sanaa reservation, even if we're looking for a prime time for the savannah view.
Aside from those three, I think we're going to go with quick service restaurants and snack carts. There are so many snacks I want to eat that I don't even know where to start. The good thing is I'll be doing so much walking around that I'll probably have more trouble keeping my sugar up than it being high. Our second part day, Epcot has the Festival of the Arts going on, so we'll definitely be doing a fair amount of sampling.
I keep checking the forecast for February. Right now, both sites agree that it'll be in the 60-70s, though one says we may have rain for our Epcot and Hollywood Studios days. The other says no rain all week. Still assuming this is some forecasting form of tea leaf reading, but it makes me happy anyway.
Things we still need to do: Verify clothing. I need to lay out our leggings and underwear, and make sure we have 12 days worth. Unless I want to wash on our resort day, that's how long we're going to need. (spoiler, I don't want to wash on our resort day. I want to relax and sit in the hot tub. Once I know that, I can make plans about how much stuff I need to get before then. I'd like to make a trip to a good shoe place and get both Jess and I fitted for athletic shoes. I know I'm not wearing quite the right size, and I don't want to get blisters.
That will need to be soon, so we'll have time to fully break in the shoes. After that, I'm going to need to get Jess their kilt for the California Grill. They have a dress code, and we'll be right after our tattoo, so long pants are probably out. Some nice combat boots and a cargo kilt should fit right in. I will need to wear boots or get some flats and break out a skirt or a dress.
Okay, guess I've babbled enough. I'm starting to get down into the endgame planning, so you're probably all going to have to hear about this a lot. Time to get myself together for work for now. Whoo. Everyone have a wonderful Sunday!
