And suddenly, we're back to Sunday. For some reason, I woke up at 4:30 and could not get back to sleep to save my life. Thanks jerkbrain. I don't know if the cat moved and woke me up or what, but it was annoying.

Since we got the new bed, Boodle has been sleeping with us almost every night. I tend to sleep on my back and don't move around a whole lot, so I have been her mattress of choice. It's very sweet, and I love her so much I could puke rainbows, but I frequently wake up with a crick in my back from laying without moving. Even in my sleep, I know when she's on me, and I will hold very still for her.

Aside from nightly Boodle incursions, the new bed has been excellent for me (and Jess as well, I think). I don't have anywhere near the level of pain that I did with the old broken down mattress. And I continue to love my desk, so they were a good group of purchases. Despite the expense, no buyer's remorse there.

We discovered on Wednesday that we were not going to have enough money to get Cracker Barrel for Thanksgiving this year. Just didn't have enough cash after paying bills, so I put in an order at Walmart for a turkey breast and some side dishes. I was chatting with a friend who recently lost her husband and were discussing Thanksgiving plans, and I mentioned that money was tight this year. Apparently, the Living Legacy foundation is giving them a turkey dinner in honor of her husband's organ donation, and her family doesn't like turkey, so she asked if we wanted it. So, we now have a whole turkey, stuffing, potatoes, vegetables, gravy etc coming our way. I was a little bit gobsmacked honestly. I went from scrambling to get together an acceptable dinner to having SO much food. We're still making a few extra sides-corn pudding, sweet potatoes and hashbrown casserole. I'm so grateful for the people in my life.

Today, aside from work, I'm playing in my Spelljammer game, so that'll be fun. Three game weekends are always good. Especially since all I have to do is show up and do the smashy smashy. I'm playing a very fighty cleric, which is hilarious, since she's a life domain cleric, and should be all about the healing. And she totally does heal people, it's just that she's more likely to use inflict wounds than cure wounds.

Yesterday, we went to the dispensary and picked up some "Relaxing Peppermints" for Jess, as well as some mango juice from the Asian grocery. Apparently, mango juice can increase the potency of weed. Go figure. It seemed to work, because Jess was seriously high after eating half a peppermint. This was the test run for Disney, since edibles are much less conspicuous than a joint or a syringe full of RSO. I know since the Vegas shooting, Disney does send security around to peek in the rooms to verify that no one is harboring a shit ton of guns. I don't think they're going to care if there's weed, but better safe than sorry. The mango juice came in this huge bottle of concentrate, so they've got juice for a long time.

We also had our Monster of the Week game, which is always a good time. It continued the theme of finding out post fucking around. Really, things went about as well as they possibly could, with the team managing to mostly thwart the confirmation that the supernatural is real. Instead, only about 50 people watched the mayor turn into her angelic form, with wings and whatnot as they managed a spell that created a total communications blackout. We also found that the team's divine has been carrying around a sword that is actually their dead wife, which the mayor promptly stole. Whoops. It was, as always buckwild. However, now that said divine has banished the rival mob boss, things may be heating up on that front. But they saved the three werewolves they were supposed to save, and maybe made a new friend in the form of an ambitious reporter who happens to be a spell slinger. I'm looking forward to seeing how things go off the rails during the next game.

And now, I shall get myself together for work, boo. Have a lovely Sunday!

there's a reason I waited to do weed experiments until AFTER our game. the reason is that I'm a lightweight who gets clobbered by 2.5 mg of THC so long as you add some extra myrcene through the mango.
