Today will be a day with nothing to do. Mondays are usually slow, and today will probably be no exception. And with former!manager off trying to build his side hustle, there's no one to dole out other projects until actual manager comes in tomorrow. So, today will be a quiet day. J's back in, so at least I'll have someone to talk to.
Yesterday dragged. I did bot J's and my markets and I was done by 10am. The rest of the day was mostly just sitting around chatting with people. I did pick at the pending return queue, but not particularly enthusiastically.
But, while I was being bored, I did feel fancy AF at my new desk. It really feels like it should be for someone who is wearing something more classy than a tank top and leggings. My next purchase is going to be a new desk lamp. I have a tiny little $7 Walmart lamp, but it doesn't really illuminate everything. I figure that's a trip to IKEA in my future. It looked like the lamps were about the same prices no matter where I went, so I might as well go to the place where I have a 20% discount.
Tomorrow, the gas people are supposed to come and reconnect our gas lines. For those counting, this is the fourth try. First was cancelled due to the remnants of hurricane Ian. Second was cancelled because they were doing clean ups from Ian. Third try, it was raining. Tomorrow, it's supposed to be sunny and we haven't had much rain in the last few days, so their asses had better show up. I'm not taking the day off, because fuck that, I've taken 2 days off already for this. They're going to have to deal with me working. Then, hopefully, hot showers!
And then, after they're done, we can build our bedframe! Neither of us really want them to be tromping in and out past our bed, so we're going to tilt the mattress up against the wall. Right now, it's on a pad on the floor, which honestly is kind of a bitch for me to get up from, and I cant do it quickly. We got a nice 14" bed base that's supposed to hold up to 3000lbs. I wanted to go with that over the one that held 500lbs, because why get that close to our combined weight. I don't want to worry that going to the Melting Pot is going to make my bedframe collapse. It looks like it'll go together pretty easy, so that's good. We'll be doing that Tuesday evening, maybe.
Okay, going to go forth and get more coffee and prepare for my day. Everyone have a wonderful Monday!
