Saturday! As I mentioned in the placeholder, our power went out around 2am thanks to the shenanigans of Ian. We're just getting rain and a touch of wind, but it was enough to take out our transformer. It finally came back up around 9:30am, so that's good. I always worry about the sump pump when it goes out. I do not want another flood in our basement. Especially when we're so close to getting our gas lines restored.

Yesterday was a mostly quiet day. Just relaxed and piddled around. My most exciting thing was to go to the store to get my ambien prescription. Watched the Floor is Lava on Netflix. They had a few pro wrestlers on for one episode, so that was fun. It's a silly obstacle course over a bubbling red liquid. All in all, I enjoyed it and will probably watch another episode.

Aside from that, I just spent the day checking my work email, hoping that they'd come through on an answer. Spoiler, they did not. So, I suppose it'll be next week? Maybe? I'm really frustrated by the process, but not much I can do about it.

But last night, we had D&D and that was awesome. It was our Rime of the Frostmaiden game, picking up the day after the second battle of Sunblight.

As they prepared to leave and head for the glacier, a tired, thin voice called out to them. A lone tiefling wandered in the snow, shivering with pink chapped cheeks. She told them that her trade caravan had turned back, not being able to get through the pass, but she was on a mission to find her missing sister.

The party took her to Bryn Shander, getting more info along the way. Her sister, a priestess of the god of knowledge, was sent to the towns to investigate the lost city trapped in the glacier. She was contacting her magically every night, but six months ago, the messages just...stopped, so she came up to look for her sister.

The party's cleric tried a scrying spell and was able to see the sister, looking traumatized and catatonic, surrounded by ice and snow. They tried contacting her, but got no response. They decided that the young tiefling would stay behind while they went to the glacier to look. The tiefling, Charity did not agree to this, and promised to follow. They spelled her to stay put. She tried to go anyway, taking damage. Reluctantly, they agreed, telling her to stay back and stay safe.

A pit fiend appeared, asking for the evil relic they carry. They declined and the fight began. On her turn, Charity whipped out a high level spell and the party was suspicious. At the end of the round, the fighter critted on her roll and beheaded the pit fiend.

As they prepared to interrogate Charity, a psychic scream incapacitated half the party, and the son of the warlock they killed appeared, ready to wreak havoc. His havoc was short lived, as the fighter again critted, managing an auto behead.

They turned to interrogating Charity, and she finally spilled that her sister was the victim of some anti tiefling sentiment, and came to the Ten Towns on some intel that Charity had stolen. She misses her twin and feels like it's her job to save her. Oh, and she's a high level bard.

The party believed her, and they agree to set off for the glacier immediately. We wrapped it there, and will convene for a mid week pick up game in a couple of weeks.

Okay, time to go plug yon computer in so it will be ready for Monster of the Week at 4. Have a super Saturday!
