beansideIt's Wednesday! We've made it to the halfway point! It's also Mabon, which is wild. It feels like it should still be May, but no, it's late September. WTF? It seems to have blown by. Our Disney trip is down to under 140 days!
Today, I have the first meeting of my new volunteer forum, the Coworker Engagement Forum. I've done this one before, and I really enjoyed it. I don't know what it's going to look like for a mostly virtual workforce, but since that's something that IKEA suffers with, I'm hoping we can do something interesting. I liked the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion group, but I don't know that it did much good for anyone beyond the handful of people in it. I'm hoping this group might do more for the center. If nothing else, it's an hour once a month that I have something to do. Last time I did this, we were in the office, and we had the fun of putting on a Price is Right style game for the whole center. I made the powerpoint for the game. It was a lot of fun, and I think people really enjoyed it.
Other than that, I'll have my usual, which I'll be done in no time flat, then we shall see. The inbox got a little messed up yesterday as everyone's Outlook fucked up simultaneously. We'll see if it's back up today. If not, we're kind of screwed. There's a web client, but it's not as functional. Can't do delivery updates at all on it. So, we shall see. If need be, I might help out in the inbox. Or, I might not. Depends on how I feel.
Still waiting for an answer on the job front. It continues to make me anxious, like I need the help. I have this fear that they'll wait til I'm in the office to tell me no, where I have to sit there the whole day and keep a poker face. This would suck mightily. I'm kind of hoping that it either comes in today or on Friday when I'm at home. That way I can process without people around me, whatever the answer is. Or, alternately, it may be next week. Which will also suck.
Okay, I've finished my coffee and put on pants. Time to consider actually waking up and getting ready to do some work. Everyone have a wonderful Wednesday! You're halfway through!
