The weekend has finally arrived!  I have no big plans whatsoever.  It's not a game weekend (boo), so we're just kind of hanging out.  We kind of have to watch Spider-man this week, since I think the video rental expires soon.  Somehow last weekend, we didn't end up doing any of that.  I'm not quite sure what we spent our Friday doing.  Nothing exciting.

Work was work, ie, boring.  I did get a call from my former manager, Sam, checking in.  I've missed chatting with him, so that was a nice surprise.  He had some work for me to do as well, which was welcome.  It didn't take long, but it was something in the middle of the day, and I appreciated it.  We caught up a little.  His father in the Philippines is not doing well, so he just came back from a three week trip to visit and from the sound of it, say goodbye.  It made me grateful that Dad's still in good shape for the most part.

It didn't make me grateful enough to be thrilled about taking him to his doctor's appointment today, though.  I'm not looking forward to that.  It's just his foot doctor for his toenail trim, so that's not horrible.  But I'll have to clean the car out and all that, which is kind of a pain.  Plus I'm paranoid about getting him out of the house as we all know.  It means he's completely my responsibility, and that's a little terrifying.

I did some looking and found a potential place to have dinner on Jess' birthday.  We'll be in Lancaster on our mini-vacation, so I want to do something nice for them.  I know they'd be perfectly happy to have dinner from Cracker Barrel, but they're turning 40!  They deserve a nice meal.  It's a little French bistro that has beef bourguignon.  It might not be as tasty as the Parc restaurant in Philly, but hopefully it'll still be good.  Vacation cannot get here soon enough.  It's only three weeks away, but that feels like a very long time.

Still don't know what we're really going to do on vacation aside from enjoying the pool at the hotel and taking it easy.  It's not really one of my strengths.  I may get restless and drive Jess crazy, needing to go to the outlets to shop.  There's not a whole lot else to do in Lancaster, really.  We'll have two full days, so we'll have plenty of time for me to be a total pain.  The only thing I know that we're doing is on the ride up.  We're stopping at Hoss Steak and Sea for lunch.  I'd like to find time to go to the Old Navy and Disney outlets just to see if there's anything good, but aside from that, not much.

Okay, time for me to go grab a shower before I take Dad to the doctor, so I look respectable.  Have a good Friday everyone!

If you're at loose ends in Lancaster County, you can always go hunting Amish cheese shops.... ;)
