The alarm is a menace! Okay, it's a necessary menace, but why must it drive me out of my warm bed? My sister is off for MLK day, so I was getting up to a dark and still house, which makes it harder. It also means that no coffee is ready. Which is sad. I'd set it up last night, so it only took a moment to turn it on. (I could have programmed it, but that seemed like too much work last night, since it's a new pot, and I'd have to read directions.)

But now, coffee is made, cats are fed and pills are taken. Cat still needs to have his thyroid medicine administered, but I usually do that around 8. He's currently sitting on the back of the sofa, occasionally clawing me for love. He's purring like a little motorboat.

Work was work yesterday. Nothing horribly exciting--just the usual markets and working the inbox a little. I was basically done my work before lunch, so that made for a long afternoon. But on the plus side, I don't work in the store. Then I would have to deal with customers.

Last night we had D&D, playing the Wild Beyond the Witchlight.

We started having just met an elf who bargained for the memory of his lost loves to be removed in exchange for his still beating heart. The crew agreed to find it and return it. Then, they continued along the path, finding a boat to cross the mire. Since none of the party had any boat proficiency at all, the artificer put on a cap of water breathing and hauled a rope across to the distant dock, allowing them to just pull themselves across.

Then, it was to the Soggy Court Palace, where the way was barred by guards! They followed around the palace and found a prisoner in a jail cell. Morgort agreed to help them out of Hither to Thither in exchange for her freedom, and they continued on, meeting the King. Announcing themselves as a royal entourage for the Ranger, who had been crowned the Witchlight Carnival Monarch in an earlier session, they parlayed with the nervous king. He asked them to return the Big Book of Bad Blood to the evil hag Bavlorna (who has several stolen things from the party).

They agreed and headed off. In the meantime, they met a scarecrow they'd been looking for who knows the area, and agreed to be their guide to the next place on the map. He agreed to meet them with Morgort at the balloon, when they make their escape. Then, it was onto Bavlorna's house.

They searched most of the house, finding only little trinkets, then happened upon Bavlorna herself. The decision was made to split the party, and half went through the secret passage that made you tiny, and half went in to discuss things with Bavlorna. She had three demands to return all the missing items. First, clean her pool of whatever was clogging the drain. Second, return her lost book, and last, steal a painting from her sister and return in 8 days with it. They agreed to the bargain, and made their way downstairs to start their first task.

We closed it there, with the party preparing to face whatever was in the pool.

Today, we have nothing terribly exciting going on. Maybe after work, there will be a trip to Walgreens for more antacids, but that's about it.

Everyone have a good Monday!
