It's Friday! Yay! I don't have much planned for the day. A quick trip to the grocery store to pick up some more cans of Sprite. The Rybelsus, while awesome, occasionally drops my blood sugar a little on the low side, and soda is a quick vehicle to get a little sugar back in. I'd gotten a 12 pack, but all the walking of vacation was kind of tough on my blood sugar. The highest it ever registered was 111, which is very good, but more frequently, I was in double digits, which is not my favorite. When it drops below 90, I start feeling shaky and shitty, so I prefer it be around 120.

We're 5 days out from vacation, and I'm still missing it. I'm thinking about maybe a trip to Hershey Park in the meantime, since that's doable in a day. They're open weekends for Halloween in Hershey and Christmas Candylane once Halloween is past. And they're only an hour and a half away. By all rights, it should be my home park, but my heart belongs to Busch Gardens. But still, roller coasters! And chocolate!

Even before the pandemic, we'd mostly stopped doing things aside from the occasional lunch out. They'll have to be chosen with care now, but an outdoor amusement park is okay. Going boating for a couple of hours would be okay. I'd like to get out more often. I think it would be good for my mental health. HersheyPark isn't quite as big as Busch Gardens, so it wouldn't be 6 miles a day, and maybe I wouldn't be slamming sugar down quite so much.

Tonight is the other thing that's awesome for my mental health: D&D night. It's going to be a busy TTRPG weekend, as we have our regular D&D tonight, Monster of the Week tomorrow afternoon, and the shiny new D&D game on Sunday evening after I get off work! I'm going to sleep hard come Sunday night, that's for sure!

Okay, time to get dressed and consider the day. Have the best Friday everyone!

enjoy your day, and the game tonight.

Hershey Park sounds like a doable get-away when you need/want a change of pace. not quite as total an escape as your little condo and Busch Garden, but more doable on shorter notice - and not as expensive (plus, chocolate!)
