beansideI woke up early today, for no apparent reason. I remember thinking that I might want to consider getting up early since I have my second game for the D&D Festival today, but I did not expect my body to internalize that and wake me up by 4:30am. Ugh. I'm going to be a tired person by the end of our regular evening D&D game tonight. Maybe I'll take a nap or have some coffee this afternoon.
Work was relatively quiet yesterday. For a little while it looked like there was going to be a pile of orders to work in the project folder, but then word came from on high to not do those, so I just had my normal reports. Got them all done and sent back, so that was good.
Then I had my first game, where I was playing as a child at the Witchlight Carnival. I was paired with random people, which was what I was nervous about. It went okay. We had a husband and wife duo and another woman who kind of dominated play a bit, I probably could have been more forceful, but I didn't. Part nerves, part not wanting to create conflict. I still participated, just wasn't as chatty as I could have been. I also wasn't a huge fan of the story, which seemed a little thrown together to make an introduction for the epic game. All in all, I'm glad I did it, but I much prefer my group.
We'll see if that's how I feel after the big game today. This is the one I'm looking forward to, where I get a sneak peek at the module that I'll be DMing. It starts bright and early at 9am, so I better get my coffee in now.
Of course, since the D&D festival is going on, I have a feeling that all the systems we use for D&D tonight will be glitchy as hell, since there's going to be a massive amount of people using them. Discord was already a little bit rough last night, so here's hoping it's not too bad tonight.
Okay, time to make a last pass through my character sheet for this morning, and try to wake up a little more. Have a good Friday everyone!
