beansideWork was kind of a slog yesterday. I'm deeply tired of my project, and I've slowed down on it a lot. I'll get over it, but yesterday it was a lot. On the happier side, I came in to about six messages on Microsoft Teams that mentioned me by name. It turned out that my manager created a new chat so I could communicate with my team for the project, and was also praising me for coming up with instructions for how to do the cases quickly. Then, some of my coworkers also praised me. I'm glad I wasn't there, because I would have been so thoroughly embarrassed, but it was nice to come into. Reader, there may have been blushing involved.
Aside from that, I can't say I did much yesterday. My day is pretty much work, dinner, Swedish lessons, and bed. Sometimes, you can add putting Dad to bed into the mix. It's my Friday, so that's good.
Tomorrow, I have nothing major planned, except probably watching the finale of The Great Pottery Throwdown. It's a very low stakes competition in the vein of the Great British Bake Off. I think it's from the same production company. It's on HBOMax, and is kind of slow and sweet. I find pottery somewhat fascinating, so it's been a lot of fun for me. No real villains in the fold, so not like an American reality competition.
Today, we have a team meeting that'll eat up most of my afternoon. That's always "fun." I'm hoping that we get a little more info about the manager situation, but the company is not known for moving quickly. I love my job, and I have plans to stay with them for the rest of my career, but they definitely have some places that they could improve. Which is the same for any company, I think.
