Well, the expected snow tally has gone up. It's now supposed to snow all Sunday and Monday. According to weather.com, it could be between 4-12". That's a hell of a range, I must say. It doesn't affect me much, except that my sister will probably be home on Monday, maybe Tuesday as well, if it hits the higher end. Which, as I've said before, interactive as hell. Poor Jess will know everything on her Twitter and Facebook by the end of the day.
Still no word on a schedule change. Apparently, it's been approved by my the second tier boss, and is now waiting for the third and final tier to approve or deny. My boss is still optimistic, but I'm still not holding my breath.
In doing the inbox last night, I managed to have arguments with not one, but two transport companies. They just couldn't seem to grasp what I was telling them. With one, I finally had to cc my manager on it, because they just kept coming back with the same basic email. It's my market, so I knew the problem was due to their screw up. They told me they'd lost an order, so I cancelled it, and tried to rebook. It's out of stock, so customer's getting a refund. Now, magically they've found it, and the customer still wants it, can't they deliver? No, it's cancelled. Period. But how can we get this customer their order? We can't, stop asking. You screwed up, take the claim and suck it up.
Obviously, I want to help the customer, but in this case, my ability to help is to get a quick refund for them. I even went to my manger to see if there were any other options, but nope.
One more day to the start of TTRPG weekend! I ended up subscribing to Roll20, just at the low subscription level. My RPGs have helped my mental health so much that I wanted to support the site that's made it possible. And it means my players don't have to sit through the loading screen for so long, so that's nice.
It needs to be tomorrow already! I want to see how my players do against the frost giant skeleton!

Date: 2021-01-28 05:43 pm (UTC)it's too bad the order got 'misplaced' and once it surfaced again couldn't be delivered to the customer. I get why you can't change company policy, but it sucks for the customer. I really wonder about delivery services sometimes - I ordered stuff from Staples for my mom - delivery on the 20th. a week later it was still showing as 'in transit' so I called CS and they arrange a replacement, sent overnight. mom got it, and three hours later the other package showed up! if it had been a minor amount I would probably have thought about keeping it, but my mom probably is too honest for that. but with it being over $100, that wasn't an option. so I called again, and they arranged for it to be picked up. so now I hope they don't show when she's down the hall for a meal or something.
