We made it to the other side. I watched the Inauguration, and it was surprisingly emotional for me. I teared up when Vice President Harris took the oath of office and never really stopped. I felt like I stayed on the edge of tears most of the day. There was a tweet online that it was like there had been a speaker blaring for four years that suddenly cut out. And now, we all have phantom melodies in our head, and it's going to take a while for that to fade.

And the Executive Orders! I have a friend that unofficially adopted a teenage girl whose family got caught in the Muslim ban. After four years, she can finally see her parents again. She can travel home to see then when it's safe, and know that she can come back to finish her college degree.

The White House web contact page asks for pronouns! It's a small step, but big steps are frequently made up of small steps that add up.

The Spanish language White House website is back up! Some intern was waiting with a finger on the publish button for sure.

I know we're going to spend the next four years trying to pull him to the left, but for one day, I celebrated.

That was pretty much my day. I got my work done, and spent the rest of the day faffing, and glee-scrolling Twitter. It was a nice switch from doom-scrolling.
