First off today, a very happy birthday to the wonderful and much beloved
poisontaster! I'm still forever grateful for SPN for bringing you into Jess and my life.
I am up at an ungodly hour on this, my day off. My body decided that 6am was an awesome wakeup time, which is thorough bullshit. We have some shit to get done today, but it can't be done until at least 10:30am, which is when the dog has to go see his groomer. Then, we have to hit two of the dispensaries as one has Jess's bedtime pills, and the other has CBD mints at half the price of the other. CBD can help to smooth the high down, and helps keep you from getting paranoid, so they're kinda a must. Plus, they help with general aches and pains. The one dispensary is up by the dog groomer, so that'll be one trip, but the other is in the other direction.
I've ordered a couple of things for Dad for Christmas, and I think the rest will be an Amazon gift card. I just can't think of anything else. Of course, one of his gifts is still hung up in California (with no movement for 12 days now) and the seller is being a bit of a pain in the ass, so no clue if that's coming in time for the holiday. I ordered it well in advance, so if the fuckers don't send another one really fucking fast, I'm going to be a tad pissed.
I finished my readthrough of the first chapter of my new D&D module, and may I say they are going hardcore. For a bunch of first level (and therefore relatively squishy) characters, they're going to have some tough opponents. Then again, the game is meant to advance them from first to fourth level before they start the second chapter, so I guess it makes sense.
Right now, I'm putting that on pause and figuring out the next MotW game, since that's next Saturday. I think I've found a good plot line, and then I'll let the chaos goblins loose on it to see where it's actually going to go. They inevitably take different directions than I expect, which is half the fun of it. It keeps me on my toes. One thing I did last session, and I'll probably do it again, is have a list of names for townspeople. It keeps me from having to fumble for a name out of thin air. Then I just check them off when I use the name. It made my life much simpler.
