So, yesterday, we got all the gas lines for the entire house redone. It was a long, loud day. They had to cut the pipes for the old lines, which was the loud part. It sounded like they were going to come up through the floor boards. Then, they put the new lines in, which necessitated a lot of pounding, which again sounded like it was coming up to visit. The dog spent a large chunk of the day in the bedroom, where he cried like his little heart was breaking. We brought him out a few times, but when they were working in the kitchen, he would carry on and we had to put him back in the bedroom.
Thankfully, he's a forgiving doggo, and thankfully, that is over. Next up, inspection. Which we've been told may be as long as three weeks, which fucking hell. My hopes of having gas for Thanksgiving is looking like a fantasy. I don't know how long it'll take once we're done this for BGE to do their job, so we shall see. Hopefully, the weather holds just a little longer. Maybe we'll have it for my birthday in December? It's been 80 degrees on my birthday before.
I slept pretty well last night, which is better than I've been doing the last three nights, so I wonder if I wasn't anxious about the gas lines. I'm very much like my dog--I don't really like strange people in my house. The people who were there were very nice, but it's still someone I don't know.
Today is Monster of the Week day, and I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully, the crew enjoys themselves. They seem to be gelling as a group, and I have a pretty good mystery, so we'll roll with that.
