Today, it is very gray and rainy in Maryland. I am not feeling the whole "work" thing. We have the plumbers coming out to do a pressure check, which we can then send to Baltimore Gas and Electric to get them to come out. Things progress--at a snail's pace. If they aren't here by 9:30am, I'll probably call into work late so Jess won't have to deal with the workers. That makes them anxious, and it's an easy fix.

Just realized that I totally forgot to post yesterday. Just had a brain dead day, I suppose.

Dad is up early today, so no peace and quiet for me! None for Jess either. Normally he gets up around 8:30-9:30am, so Jess has a few minutes before they have to deal with noise, too. He was up at 6:45am because his colostomy bag needed emptying (thankfully Shelly was still here as I have a great deal of difficulty not barfing when I do that and am considered last resort, only when no one else is at home.) He couldn't get back to sleep, in part because Gracie parked her wide butt on his chest and demanded pettings. I love that cat, but damn. I also love my quiet time.

The Saturday Monster of the Week game went well, but ran short. My little chaos goblins figured out the mystery fairly quickly, and thanks to some absolutely insanely good rolls, was concluded much earlier than expected. [personal profile] poisontaster made an absolutely great speech about mortality and acceptance to our little monster maker (who was just trying to cure her sick mother) and immediately after, my lovely Jess remembered that their character was able to cure all disease, so the sick mother was handled without further monsters being made. Once they realized that the monsters could be destroyed with that same cure disease or a dose of Interferon B (they were made from the Hepatitis D virus), they went on a tear. Despite the shortness, everyone seemed to have a good time, and the party really has gelled nicely.

Now I just have to wait til next Saturday for the Russian Festival. Countdown 5 days!

Let me just say, I have cramps, and this having a period thing can fuck off now. I only get it once in a while, and I honestly thought it was gone for good this time, but no. It's back and it is a crampy mess. I dislike it intensely.

Okay, time to have some Hawaiian pizza for breakfast. It was also dinner last night, and was tasty as hell. I'm one of those people who thinks pineapple on pizza is awesome.

sorry you're hurting! hopefully you can be done with the whole thing soon

I also love pineapple on pizza - my fave is with pepperoni, it's a nice contrast to the slightly spicy meat.
