I did not sleep well last night. At around 1:30am, our old man cat, Sam, found his way into our room. This was fine, if he had just settled down, and laid on me or next to me. Instead, he meowed loudly, walked all over me, pulled my hair, and bit my toes. This got him kicked out, and I tried to get back to sleep. This worked until he came back in, and the cycle began anew. I love him so much, but holy shit, I love sleep, too. We listened to a podcast, but I wasn't able to get back to sleep, because I was waiting to be descended upon again. It was not ideal.
Thankfully, I took off early today, as I have my psych appt, so hopefully, there'll be a nap in my future. Work was incredibly boring yesterday, so I have no qualms about cutting my day off. I could have done that yesterday too, and still gotten all my work done. Apparently, there's some jobs coming down the pike, so I'll see whether any of those are interesting, or an advancement.
I didn't watch the debates, as usual. I understand that Pence was a gaslighting, mansplaining jackass, which is about what I expected. I'm sure that white men will empathize and think he did well. I'm glad Kamala stayed calm so that the pundits can't use the "angry Black woman" schtick on her. Nothing is going to change my vote at this point, so really, why make my blood pressure go up like that?
I can't wait for Saturday, and my Monster of the Week game. I'm a little bit nervous about the plot, as it requires more investigating than the prior ones, but hopefully my little chaos gremlins will prevail, and everyone will have fun. That's my main goal--everyone has fun.
I'm both anticipating and dreading fall. We still need to get the gas company in to turn on the gas, and it's getting close to when we'll need it. They're making us jump through needless hoops, like getting our pipes pressure tested. Which is of course, at our expense. Hopefully, we can get it done quickly, so that our shiny new heating unit can keep us all toasty this winter.
