I swear, yesterday at work, I was doing three things at once at all times. I did my markets, I had a special project (the warehouse near DC is so overloaded that one store can't take all the returns, so it's making cases sending them back to other stores), plus I was doing delivery updates and taking calls. We've been off of transport calls for long enough that I forgot how much I dislike them. Unfortunately, the phone coworkers who normally help are not in on Sunday, so they asked us to take some. They asked two whole teams to do so, but it was me and one other woman, in reality. Everyone else's phones "didn't work." *sigh* People are shitty some times. Hopefully, the phones people will be back on today. It's not like taking customer calls, but I feel like my time could be better spent elsewhere.
My helpfulness did get a manager's notice, so that'll be a point in my favor, and year end review is coming up. I don't expect it to go badly-I do my job, I help out where needed, and I'm easygoing. It should be meets or exceeds expectations all the way. Still, it's always stressful to some degree.
It always seems when you're too poor to afford it, that's when you get the cravings for a certain food. I have been wanting a Baltimore Roll from Yama Sushi for the last week. It's crab and shrimp, with avocado, then old bay and teriyaki sauce on it, So good. And I will be waiting til Friday for it.
Now that I'm done this weeks Monster of the Week game, I'm starting to write the next game. I have a mystery, but as I said before, it needs some reworking. It should give my players plenty of things to hit, and a mystery to solve. I think the mystery is probably where my games are weakest, so I'm going to try to punch that up a little, and make them work for it. Still, I don't want to make it too impossible either. Hopefully, I can work it out to a happy medium.
I'm sitting here in the morning quiet after Shelly leaves for work but before Jess gets up. I like this time, as well as the first hour when Jess gets up. It gives me quiet time to drink my coffee and prepare for the day. Usually, Dad doesn't wake up til after eight, so all is still except for the cat slurping as he licks his butt. (He's beauty and he's grace, y'all.) Then, around eight thirty, I start getting bored, and I want to get started on the day. I really need to beg for an eight or nine start time.
