beanside | Sunday, and back to work.

It's a nice, dreary day for me to go back to work on. I'll have some things to work on in the morning, but not much in the afternoon. So I'll probably be doing delivery updates. Which are boring as hell, but better than nothing. Maybe there'll be something that came in on Friday that needs working. I can hope.

Had a great time with the RPG last night, and my players seemed to enjoy it. Clockwork dolls and monsters. And one really nasty witch who got hit points with every bit of harm she inflicted. Now back to the drawing board for the next mystery. I think I know which one I'm going to do. It appealed to me right away, but it needed some changes to make it workable with this group. Still, I think it'll be loose and fun. Which'll be unlike the somewhat structured take this week, being basically a haunted house.

I really look forward to both of my RPGs, both playing and GMing. It gives me something to look forward to on weekends, which if a nice switch with the pandemic where every day is basically the same. I'm so grateful for my group, which formed after Con.txt. I'm hoping for a few more members from Confabulation, maybe. Though what we have now is a nice mix, very fannish based in the best way. No one's an asshole, no one is meta gaming, and the players work together. From my previous experience, that wasn't always the case. (Though to be fair, my previous experience was with a misogynistic bunch of dudebros.)

We had our Greek food yesterday. It was pretty good, though not as good as eating it at a picnic table with the Greek music blaring in the background. Also, no fried flaming cheese, which is always a loss. Instead we drove up, gave our name, and two minutes later, they brought two bags out to us. Very efficient, but less satisfying. Ah well.

Now in three weeks, Russian festival for considerably more food. I'll probably have to skip gaming that week, sadly, unless they can do a slightly later start time. The church the festival is at is downtown, so it takes a little time to do the fetching. Again, it'll be sad, because I will miss the experience, also the gunpowder tea with strawberry jam to sweeten it.
