Ugh. We put a new mattress topper on over the weekend, as our bed is old and somewhat broken down. (We're going to get a new one eventually. It's just been, y'know. Covid-y) The topper is about three inches thick and a gel foam and it is niiice. I'd bought it for my father originally, but he downsized to a twin bed, so we, being the only queen sized bed in the family, inherited it. Did I mention very nice? I'm not having as many back spasms since we put it on, and last night, after I woke up at 4:30am, I actually dozed back off! Of course, now I don't want to be awake--I wanted to stay snug and warm in my comfy bed. Jess thinks it's helped their hip as well.
I totally lied to myself when I said I'd start looking at mysteries for the next Monster of the Week game in about a week. I started digging around on Sunday, looking at potential mysteries. Found one by yesterday morning, and have the barebones treatment worked out already. I'll spend the next two weeks adding and subtracting monsters and what not. It's really surprisingly difficult to find non-offensive content. I don't want to co-opt any indigenous religion or lore, so it rules out a lot. Also, Nazis. I do not want undead Adolph Hitler in my game. I will probably repurpose that game, since there was absolutely no reason that it had to be Hitler, and it was a potentially interesting mystery.
We're trying to find someone to redo the accessibility ramp at our house, as the old one has a broken board, and it's been there over a decade, and needs an update. Also, it doesn't come all the way up to the door, and there's a small step there that I don't think Dad can manage any more. I am striking out finding people, may I just say. I've found one that does modular ramps, which I don't know if they'll work for what we have or not. It might just not be able to follow the same footprint as the one we have. Otherwise, I'll be looking at decking companies, and calling around to see if they can do ramps.
Also, my computer has abruptly decided that it will open all links in new windows, and close the page I was on. This is annoying, and if anyone has a solution, I will be grateful. My googlefu is not working this morning.
