Had a great time yesterday. The drive up was pretty, and easy. We made it there 15 minutes early, so my inner fretting was appeased. We rented a big 9 foot pontoon boat, going on the supposition that it would be easier to get off and on. Thankfully this was correct. It handled like a pregnant cow, and thanks to the tides, it tried to run us aground a couple of times, but all in all, it was a blast. We put-putted around the lake, watched the sailboats go out and generally relaxed to the roar of the boat engine.
The GPS failed us on the drive home, sending us along a million rural roads. Most of them were overrun by signs for the Orange Debacle, which certainly made our gay asses feel welcome. Once we finally got to the interstate, it was smooth sailing to out local sushi restaurant for a late lunch. So tasty.
Afterwards, my back and headache reminded me of the price of having fun, so we went to bed super early. Which means we both were awake super early, boo. I miss the days when I could sleep for 12 hours easily. Now my body is too much of a twat. Still, 5:30 wake up? Dick move, body.
Today is, as I mentioned above, game day. I’ve done everything I can to make this a good game, I think. I tried, at least. Of course, my legal pads and fancy pens were delayed by Amazon, so I might have to make that Target trip after all. I could just use a google doc, but I remember better if I physically write it down. By the time 4pm rolls around I will have driven my family insane, I’m sure.
Today, Jess has an X-ray for their sore foot. Hopefully, we’ll have a reason for their owies.
