Lately, I've been waking up around 4:30 AM, and not really getting back to sleep. I can lay there, it's not like I'm having restlessness, I just can't get back to sleep. I would like to sleep til my alarm, pls. I mean, laying there on my side curled up is not unpleasant, but come around 3:00 PM, I'm so fucking tired. Since I'm working then, that's a little bit inconvenient.
The kitties continue to come sit on the sheepskin. Mostly Grace, our dilute tortie, and the bully of the family. Sometimes, it's also Sam, our old man, but eventually Grace kicks him off. Boodle, who I initially put the pad down for, is almost entirely shut out. I feel a little bad about that, and plan to get a couple more sheepskins for various places. They can't be everywhere at once.
Had to weed my Facebook friends after a couple of shockingly racist posts. I know, Facebook is a cesspool, but it's the only place a lot of family members use, so I'm kind of stuck if I want to have any sort of relationship with them. Most of them, thankfully, don't post any political shit, because I'd hate to have to get into a flame war with them. (That's probably a lie. I haven't had a good flame war in a while.)
Shelly says that next Friday, Jess and I are to get out of the house and do something for the day. She feels like Jess especially needs the break. I don't disagree, but I have no idea what the hell we're supposed to do. Maybe a daytrip somewhere? We're kind of limited by COVID and funds. If we have enough, we could rent a boat for an hour, but that's not the whole day. With my asthma still a little fucked up from having corona, any sort of outdoorsy stuff that requires exercise is not viable. I guess we'll figure something out.

Date: 2020-09-01 06:30 pm (UTC)I don't do FB, but talking with my sister last night I learned that some of our clan is pretty far right. it's mostly those I'd expect, but still disappointing. rednecks gonna redneck, I guess, but it is sad
I hope you guys can find something enjoyable to do - a break in the routine and change of scenery sounds like a really good idea

Date: 2020-09-02 11:15 am (UTC)I'm pretty sure some of my family are Trump fans, but they have the decency not to blab about it. I don't know what I'd do if they did. Probably mute them for 30 days, then do it again until after the election.
Maybe boating at a nearby lake? I like being on the water, and I have a boating license, so that's a possibility.
