Survived first two weeks of job.

So far so good, though it has a fucked up pay schedule. On the 15th and the last working day of the month. Which means that I don't get paid til Monday. It's just weird.

*shrug*

Aside from that, I'm settling in okay.

I get paid monthly, three working days after the last working day of the month. Usually ends up being the 5th or there abouts. Can make paying the bills interesting. *rollseyes*

I used to work for the Commonwealth of Virginia. They would pay us on the 1st and the 16th, I feel your pain/frustration. Very strange. It was a tough adjustment from the the every two weeks I was getting paid by the Feds. The check was larger but it had to stretch longer.

Boo hiss for weird pay schedules. (I know a little something about weird pay schedules. I get paid once a month. I get six checks Oct through Mar for work that starts in August and ends in January. Then I "start work again" if you exclude prep and research in between terms, assuming I don't get a winter term class) later in January and get six pay checks from March through August. Except that what should be the fall March paycheck gets held until September because that makes more sense than giving us two paychecks in March I guess?

As for pay days, we get paid sometime near the first of the month--once a month only. Some months, we get paid as early as say the 28th. Other months we get paid as late as the 3rd.

Except if it's for work through a different department, in which case since it's seasonal, we get paid only two to three weeks after all the work is done. I have tried to figure out how they determine when it's a paid on the 30th month as opposed to a paid on the 2nd month and failed every time. I'm not sure who designed this system. I am sure it took me a good four years to figure out all the nuances of it. So my scale of weird is pretty much off most peoples' charts.)

I am so glad you are settling in hon! It can take a while. Once the money starts flowing at a steady pace things will be better.

Have just discovered a whole page of old Flist updates I missed before. So, you have a new job! Tell more? Edited because DOH! I mixed things up in my head. Note to self: friends with 'bean' in name are not automatically the same person.
I know you have a new job! Glad it's ok! And getting paid twice a month can't be that bad, can it?
