So, as Jess mentioned, yesterday was a...interesting day. Any time you have the paramedics in your house before eight in the morning, you know it's going to be one of those days.

Grandmom had her usual congestive heart failure flare up, which results in her lugs filling with fluid, so that she's basically drowning. It's a horrible, terrifying thing to watch, much less for her to have to go through. But, thus far, it's been a fairly easily solved problem, with a CPAP machine and some Lasix getting her set up fairly quickly. That pretty much set the theme for the day, actually. Semi-charmed life, or a day of mixed graces.

Shortly after that, Jess left for work, only to be told by a woman at the light near her that her tire was flat (not, as she originally heard, that 'she was dragging a cat,' thankfully). She turned around, having not gotten more than half a mile from home, and I took her to work. (Again with the mixed grace--it was a Wednesday, and I'm off, plus with grandmom going to the hospital, I didn't have to baby sit, so I was free to take her.)

The tire had a 1" nail stuck in it, and the "tire patch in a can" took care of it, once I found the little bastard.

Then, Jess had a bad day at work, and felt icky, so we decided to go buy the Season 1 Heroes set. At Target, got into a traffic snarl, but ended up getting a spot near the store. Problem, someone else had wanted the spot, but I hadn't seen them, and they were past the spot anyway, which according to the Vulturing Rules of the road, meant that they had given up that spot as far as I'm concerned. Who backs into a spot in the middle of a busy mall parking lot? They proceeded to yell at us that we'd taken their spot. We ignored them and walked in. Jess had to hit the bathroom, so I sat outside, and was treated to another round of "I know you saw us waiting there!" when they came in. (when we left, we saw their SUV on the other side of the row, three cars down, so c'mon. It's not like they didn't get a good spot--let it go. I truly didn't see them, and really, bitching at someone in the middle of Target? Not cool.) Sadly, despite the fact that I thought I was in the right, I still let it upset me.

We had a nice dinner, and went home, then when Jess had a yen for ice cream I took her to the grocery and she bought me pretty flowers! My wife is an awesome woobie.

Today, hopefully things will be better. I want to write, and get the next part of Deathknell ready to play, andswer comments and write.

I wish there was a solution to the letting yelling people upset you even when you're in the right problem. I sometimes get twinges of anger/hurt even months later when I think of things like that.

Hope the week continues with the blessings not so mixed, and that your grandmom is better.

don't let strangers upset you, invoke the mckay and make them cry with words! after someone giving me grief in the car park and then again in the store i'd have taken a super not-so-sekrit pleasure in their obvious stress. fuckers.

Is your grandmother on meds to keep her lungs dry? They worked for my mother--if she didn't take them, her lungs filled right up. Badbadbad.

And I agree on the parking lot rules. Sorry you got someone dramatic. You know, I believe we should be able to enroll such people to community theater, like a citizen arrest.

Hope you're having a quiet day.

People are crazy these days. At least SUV driver didn't pull out a gun or some other idiotic act.

Hope your day was better!
