"When the nice people get here, you have to go with them, baby," his mother said softly. "Otherwise, they're going to take us away."

"I don't wanna go away," Jensen whimpered. "I wanna stay here."

"I know, sweetheart. But we can't afford to take care of you and your sister. And if you don't go, she'll starve. Do you want that?"

"No, Mommy." Jensen felt his lower lip wobble as someone knocked on the door. He could be brave.

The man came in talked quietly to his parents. Jensen didn't like the way the man looked at him. It made him feel bad, but he didn't say anything. He wasn't a baby like Mackenzie.

But when the man's hard hand closed around his wrist, pulling him towards the door, he couldn't help the tears. "Mommy! I don't want to go! Please don't make me!"

His mother turned away, closing the door behind him as the man dragged him away.
