It's Friday! Which currently means absolutely nothing to me aside from that it's game day. Soon, I will be back into the concept of schedules, but not for about a month. I wish my starting date was sooner, mostly because I am so utterly bored right now.
Thanks to my untreated ADHD, I have a great deal of trouble focusing on anything, so my day is mostly spent scrolling tiktok and other various social media sites, trying to find something to hold my attention. I can't settle to a book or movie at all, which is deeply annoying, since I've got like three that I want to read. I was halfway through the newest Paladin book by T.Kingfisher, I've got Bookshops and Bonedust, and there's another that I can't think of right now. Oh, and I'm two behind on Haley Edwards' books. I was on Strattera, but it was doing absolutely nothing for me, so we'll see what he can do for me once I have good insurance again.
Hopefully, the pre-boarding coordinator gets in touch with me today, so I can get my pre-employment physical and drug screening set up soon. I know they're not going to start me any sooner, but I'd like all the stuff out of the way early. I'm one of those people who likes to be early for everything. Like, them offering within 6 hours of the appointment was ideal for me. Waiting patiently is not my strong suit.
Today, we have a game in the morning, and a game in the afternoon. Somewhere in the middle, I've got to find time to prep the evening game, and one of us has to go see Dad. The weekend is mostly clear for us. No games, nothing exciting going on. We may make a trip to the Asian grocery store on Saturday, but we'll see. We don't strictly speaking need anything, but it would be nice to get out.
Aside from that I've been making plans for when I have a paycheck again. I'm thinking a little trip in March, probably to Philadelphia, and then maybe one to NYC in April. If dad's doing well, and we think my sister can handle him for a couple of nights, we might do two nights in one of them. We could leave after work on Friday and either drive up or take the train (for NYC). New York is really expensive, so I'm not sure we could do two nights there, but we'll see.
We shall see. It'll depend a lot on whether we get money back from taxes and how much I get out from the state pension plan, I suppose. I wish my unemployment would come in so we could do something while Dad is in the rehab, but apparently my former employer is dragging their heels on getting the state the information. So who the fuck knows when/if I'll get a check.
If I'm counting properly, and the pay schedule calendar I found is correct, I should get my first paycheck from Hopkins on 3/1. Which seems like a very long time, but will hopefully come quickly.
Okay, going to go get more coffee, and maybe put on a shirt for my telehealth with my shrink today. Everyone have a wonderful Friday, and I hope my friends in the Pacific NW are staying warm and dry!
