It's a good day for some Poison in our subject line. I still have like three or four songs on our Infinite Playlist. I will probably always have a soft spot for them, especially their guitarist, CC Deville. After getting out of rehab, before he found running and ran them off, he acidly remarked that it was more acceptable to be a heroin addict than fat, which endeared me to him.
Today, I'm in the mood for Demon Hunter, so I'll get that set up before I head out this morning. I think I'm on the tail end of our playlist anyway. It's been running for like six or seven days, and it's only 15 hours.
Ah, life giving coffee. I need that delicious elixir. I usually only drink one during the morning and then have another one or two when I get to work, but I kinda want more.
Around 1:45am, the rival cat must have been on our porch, because Boodle started out and out screaming, howling, hissing. I came charging upstairs, but I didn't see anything (because I was in such a rush that I didn't grab my glasses). I petted her for a couple of minutes, and soothed her poufy tail back down a bit, then I crawled back to bed to wait for the adrenaline to settle down.
Bookshops and Bonedust comes out today! I really loved Legends and Lattes, so I'm very much looking forward to this prequel. I probably won't have a chance to read it until Thursday or Friday when I'm off, but I definitely want to.
Yesterday was more of the same. Our trainer is very meticulous and wants to go over everything with us. Which I guess is good, but a lot of it, we went over rather meticulously in class. We had a test on it and everything.
Today, we go over policy and procedure, which should be thrilling. Tomorrow, we might get to take a call finally. I'm both anxious and looking forward to it. I'm hoping my first call is something good, but not too good. Chest pain or chimney fire, yes. Cardiac arrest or active shooter, no. I'm worried because my dispatcher number corresponds with the code for active shooter. So, it may be fated. (I know damn well that if I get a shooter, I'm going to get shoved out of the way, and my trainer will take over, so it's okay.)
I was able to get into Telestaff which has our schedule, and it currently shows me as working on both Christmas and New Years, so money, money, money. I am perfectly okay with that. I'll be on nights or evenings, so I'll be able to have Christmas in the morning, and then go to sleep or go to work after. I'll take a look at it today and see if it tells me the shift I'll be on at that point, because I got so excited about the money that I forgot to look.
Okay, time for me to go forth and get myself together for work. Everyone have an excellent Tuesday!
