Another day with nothing planned. I will be surfing tiktok all day doing nothing and I will be bored. In retrospect, given my border collie tendencies, I possibly should have worked this week. I don't know that I would have done any actual work, so it might not have helped anyway. I mostly would have been chatting with friends, which I can do via text, so maybe it'll make it through the week.
I did make one decision yesterday that will make pre-work shopping much easier. I'm going to do a uniform. Black sneakers, Torrid dress pants and a polo shirt. I will look like the butch-est bisexual on the planet. It'll look neat and put together, but not too dressed up. After haunting more pictures of the center on facebook, it looks like the general "look" is casual, so I won't stand out, but I'll look like I have my shit together.
The other reason is that I feel like it'll help me shed a hard day when I get home, if I can peel off my uniform and hop in the shower. It'll give me that delineation between my lives.
So, when I get paid, I'll be ordering a few polo shirts to hold me until I can put in a Lands End order. Not that the Lee Rider polos are insufficient, but they only come in 3 colors. I wish there was still as Sears with a Lands End in it so I could just go get the lifetime guaranteed shirts, but alas. The nearest one to me that has plus sizes is in Rockville, which is a bit of a hike, and no guarantee that they have what I'm looking for, so it doesn't seem worth it to me.
This week of uncertainty is kinda hard on us. Apparently, the center did a tour in early August, where I could have come in, seen the place and had time to come up with questions, but of course I wasn't looking at that point. It's all happened really fast--three weeks between application, testing and offer, which is awesome, but a lot of questions have cropped up, and I don't really have anyone to ask.
Hopefully, they'll give me my schedule pretty early, so I can finally make plans. (Will I get to pick up food from the Russian Festival? Is mystery.)
We do have a few things between now and when my schedule changes that we're going to do. There's an Italian Festival, a Greek Festival, and then maybe a day trip, not sure where yet.
Okay, time to get Dad breakfast. Everyone have the best Tuesday!
