It's Saturday and everyone is still in bed, so I get my little snippet of quiet time, which is good. Because yesterday with my sister home was very loud. She showed me every single thing on her timeline, I swear. I was so overstimulated. Thankfully, she went out to lunch with friends which gave us two hours and then out for a haircut, which gave us another 45 min. I love her so much, but she's so much more extroverted than I am.
I also got a little break when I went for my boob squish. The tech was very nice, but I felt like she was trying to get everything from my clavicle down. There was som serious pulling and tugging and maneuvering to get everything flopped up on the little plate. And the sideways one, where they try to get your lymph nodes in the shot was kind of painful. I was good right afterwards, but then by the time the afternoon really rolled around I was kind of achy and sore.
Once I got out of there, I headed up to the bakery to get some tasty treats. I ended up dropping more money than I should have, but everything looked amazing. I had an almond croissant and some money bread, and both were wonderful. I will definitely be going back when I have an extra couple of dollars.
I didn't do anything most of yesterday, aside from putting in some more applications. Thank fuck that Baltimore City website will save your answers from application to application, because some of those things are in depth. I have applied for everything within the pay range I was looking for that doesn't require a degree, and all I can do is hope something gets a bite. If they get to the point of checking references, I put my current manager down and I know he'll talk me up. The problem is, since I'm putting in a lot of governmental jobs, the recruitment is deathly slow. And I am not the best at patience. Still, I'm going to try to send for the job and forget it.
A new TL just popped up on the IKEA site, but I'm not applying. They've made it abundantly clear that I'm not who they want. If a non-team lead job shows up, maybe, but I think it's time to move on, so maybe not. I would have to waffle about that, for sure.
Last night, we had our Curse of Strahd game, where the party suffered through another awkward encounter and made friends and stabbed people. I really love the party of little goth disasters. They're so much fun to traumatize.
Today, we have my uncle's memorial get together. I'm a little cranky about this. First up, they scheduled it with a week's notice, and of course, we already had plans. Second that side of the family, save one cousin, are kind of fundamentalist assholes. So y'know, I'm really hot to go to that. We've come to the decision that we're going for the "receiving of friends and family," and then leaving before the actual memorial. coyotegestalt and werylady. If it weren't for the one cousin and his husband, I wouldn't be bothering. Actually, I don't even know if the husband will be allowed to come, considering that the other cousin wouldn't let either of them see his child for a long time.
The mood I've been in, all it will take is one supporter of the Cheeto to open their mouth, and I'm going to be kicked out of the funeral home.
But, once I survive this, I shall drive to Takoma Park and have a lovely time with friends. It'll be awesome and with good food and friends.
And now, I shall go forth and get myself together. Everyone have a super Satrurday.
