And yet, despite knowing it was coming, Sunday has snuck up on me again. I really didn't feel like getting up at 6 when the alarm went off. In large part because as long as I stayed still, my back didn't hurt much. The moment I moved, it got pissy. It's not as bad this morning as it was last night, but it still seriously sucks. And as I recall, it got worse as the day went on yesterday, so we'll see where we end up today. It's especially bad when I stand or walk too long, when the pain radiates up my back, grabbing around my ribs so I feel like I can't take a deep breath without spasm. That little trick is awesome. I've got an appointment with telehealth in 30 min, not because I think they can fix it, but because I'm hoping for some muscle relaxants.

Dad continues to be frustrating. The last two days, the weekend doctor has not called us at all, so we have no idea what's going on. I'm going to call down around 10 and throw a little Karen fit to see if we can get some information. Dad is too deaf to hear most of what the doctor is saying, so he's not really any help. I'd just like to avoid "Hey, he's on his way home, y'know?

Yesterday was a lovely day despite spending most of it worrying that the hospital would decide at 10am to send him home at 12, and wreck all our games. We had a really nice round of the Mad Mage with Jess' friends. They're almost to the next portal down, and will be in the third level of the 23 level maze. I'm looking forward to the third level, as it's a pirate town, and I can conceivably bring backstories into it more. Yay! They fought a zombie beholder, complete with disintegrate ray, which hit the paladin for 45 points of damage.

Second game was a cool haunted house that turned out to be a lot of fun. The monsters were appropriately scary and did some serious damage. Since the party only had three potions of healing, this could have been a bit rough, but they did have a few potions of healing, so that was something. They made it out alive and did away with the demon that had cursed the house, so it was all good. But unlike a lot of games, it really made you work for that good ending. I've already bought another game from that writer, and am hoping it'll be just as good.

Okay, going to go get myself together for doctor's appointment and work. Have a lovely Sunday everyone!
