Another day, and Dad's still in the hospital. After two days of no updates, I finally got ahold of his doctor. She was less than informative, but I did manage to get that it should be today or tomorrow, depending on Infectious Disease. His new set of cultures haven't grown anything, but they won't be completed til Tuesday, so it depends on if the doctor thinks 3 days with no growth is enough, or if they want to wait til it's 100% complete and certified. It does seem like he's going to be coming home on oxygen, which, y'know, whatever. I guess now we wait for them to call.
My back is still fucked up, so this could be a bit of a challenge if he does come home today. We shall see!
I went on a bit of a application spree this week at IKEA. The ever illusive team lead job came up, so I applied again, and then I found a job in Conshohocken, PA that sounded really interesting. It's a support specialist job that sounds like it's doing a lot of what I do now, but for the digital side of the business. It sounded like something I'd enjoy, so I applied. The commute would be a bitch, but I can deal with that one day a week, especially for the pay raise.
The other thought I had was that if I'm working out of PA, it gives me a good excuse to move when Dad passes, thus avoiding my sister's "Lets move in together." Which, while I love her very much, would 100% end up with Jess and I caretaking her for the rest of our lives, and I cannot do that.
A nice little apartment on the outskirts of Philly sounds lovely. I was looking at the area, and found a few nice ones that accept pets. Plus, then we'd be closer to
poisontaster which would be awesome.
I think even if this doesn't work out, I'm going to continue to watch the jobs in our corporate office and try to get something up there.
Of course, if I do get that, we'll definitely be needing a car with lower mileage. I think I've narrowed it down to a Hyundai Kona or a Kia Soul. I just need to test drive both and see which one seems better. I'd like to get the test drive done soon, just so I have all my ducks in a row.
I've been kind of building castles in the air over this job, but honestly, we'll see. They may want me in the office 100%, which I definitely could not do. I could handle the commute once or twice a week, but five days would be a bit much...unless the pay is really good.
Okay, time for me to go forth and get myself together. Everyone have a majestic Monday!
