I slept for shit again last night and wow, I'm feeling it. I'm just achy as hell and a bit woofly. Hopefully that will improve with application of some caffeine.
Dad's back in the hospital. He continued to be very restless and squirmy, and when I checked his vitals, his pulse was 125 and his oxygen saturation was 84. I called the doctor who said to send him to the ER. When the ambulance got him here, his saturation was 79 (should be over 90) and they immediately put him on oxygen. Jess kindly offered to go to the hospital with him, something they probably regret.
The ER was very busy, and they didn't have a room for him immediately, so poor Jess got to wait in the waiting room with someone alternately sobbing loudly and retching. Two hours later, they got to go back, just in time for the nurse to berate her about dad's diaper rash, and possible yeast infection and that he was "filthy." Y'all, it's really difficult to keep a man in a diaper squeaky clean and free of chafing. Apparently the doctor was nice, though, and let us know that the chest Xray showed pneumonia.
Eventually, after they confirmed that they were admitting him, Jess came home and a little later, I went down.
When I got there, they made me wait 30 min to go back. Then, they sent me to a room where he hadn't been for over 2 hours. I'm not sure which of us was more surprised, the man I walked in on or me. I think I probably had the same nurse as Jess who acted like it was my fault that I was sent back. Then, it was back to the desk where they finally pointed me in the correct direction.
How long will they keep him this time? Knowing this hospital? No fucking clue. To give you an idea of how awesome this hospital is, he's currently listed on the records as Black. We are the whitest motherfuckers on the planet. Any whiter and we'd be transparent.
It's just...a lot. I'm so tired of the hospital merry go round, but it doesn't seem to be letting up.
I'm just hoping they keep him til maybe Sunday? That would be good and not fuck up anyone's plans. That said, they'll probably send him home on Saturday, just to screw up not one but two games. Will they send him home on Oxygen, or keep him until he doesn't need it? Who knows!
Ugh.
Okay, going to go forth and get ready for work. Everyone have a stupendous Wednesday!
