Ugh, it's Thursday, and I did not want to wake up early. I slept great, but damn, 5:30 is early. At least I don't have the worry about leaving Jess alone to take care of Dad all day. Unless of course, they send him home, but the doctor yesterday said maybe Friday. Nothing exciting planned for the day. Just working my reports and then doing busywork. Maybe I'll bang my head against the wall and try to reach out to another dept and let them know that they're doing the wrong thing. Maybe not, we'll see how much I care today.

Work yesterday was mostly boring. I did my work, did some busywork and haunted Dad's portal, trying to figure out what was going on. Discovered that (though no one bothered to tell us), somewhere between January and March, he had a heart attack. It would have either been with the RSV or the first round of sepsis, and neither hospital said a word. Had I known, he'd have a cardiologist, not that it would be easy to get him to see them.

So, the long and short of it: He had a heart attack and has some damage to his heart. His BNP that measures how your heart is working is elevated and has risen over 100 points in 3 weeks. He has some fluid in his lungs. His lungs look like shit, which could be from the pneumonia, or might be from congestive heart failure or emphysema. Oh, and his oxygen saturations is great--while he's on oxygen, that is. What this actually means? No clue yet. They want to get the pneumonia under control before they give actual answers. So for now, we don't know if he's coming home on oxygen or what that means for his cpap?

I feel bad thinking it, but I don't think we necessarily are going to have to worry about his care while we're in Chicago. At the rate we're going, I don't expect him to last that long. Which will suck, but will also be a bit of a relief.

We shall see what happens, I guess.

Last night, we played our Blades in the Dark game. It went pretty well, despite my planning being a little...scattershot (for obvious reasons). Most homebrewed games, I'll write about a page, sometimes a little less. Once in a while, though, most of the game lives in my head. Last night's I had a whole 5 sentences. The rest was 100% improv. This is my second 100% improv with a third being added in 1 1/2 weeks. Two are MotW, and this one is Blades in the Dark. At some point, I'll have to run an improv D&D campaign, but somehow that seems more daunting.

Okay, I suppose I should get myself together. Gotta wear actual clothes today. Ew. Everyone have a wonderful Thursday!
