It's Saturday, which means that we survived the day of visits! Honestly, if I hadn't gotten up at7 yesterday, you wouldn't have gotten a post, because by 9am, people started coming, and they didn't stop until about 5:15.

First up, the PT came. Dad managed to sit on the edge of the bed for about 5 seconds for her, but he also did his leg exercises, so not his best effort, but not terrible. Then we relaxed for a bit, and PT came. He did his arm exercises, but was obviously tired and sore. We fed him, and then Verizon and the home health aide came simultaneously. The home health aid finished well before Verizon.

The area at the end of our backyard is overgrown, and of course that's where all the wires are. There's one easily accessible pole, and of course, it didn't have a hub on it. So he had to go into our neighbor's yard and run a new wire through the jungle. I felt for this man. I sacrificed two of my blood sugar gatorades to the cause of keeping this poor man hydrated. It took the better part of three hours, but he finally was able to drill the hole and wire in our new Fios connection, finishing up around 5:15. (he arrived about 2:00pm, and finally departed around three hours later. It was a long haul for this poor guy. If I'd had any cash on hand, I'd have slipped him a $20 tip at least.

The cool thing is that the new internet is super fast. I ran a speedtest on T-mobile yesterday morning and got 160mps. The new internet is a 500mbs. connection, and it does seem to be performing in the 450-500 range, so I'm thrilled.

I feel like the internet is ready should my sister get a work from home job now. I tested it on everything, and my work VPN seems to work really well, so that's nice. It'll be nice not to have to restart the router after the VPN connects 90% of the time.

I need to find something I can download to test how fast the numbers actually mean!

After all that, it was time for the Curse of Strahd game. It was a ton of fun, even though our heroes got into a dicey battle. Two of them went down during the course of events. Their companions got them back up, but at one point, two people were unconscious and two were down to under 15 hit points. One of the unconscious ones had been flying when xe went unconscious, so xe fell and immediately failed two death saves due to the falling damage. I realized after the fact that this happened right in front of xyr's turn, so technically, I should have had xem roll another death save right then, potentially killing them. (The cleric has revivify, so it wouldn't have been the end.) So, I had a boneheaded moment that possibly saved the cleric's third level spell.

Today is Mad Mage. I need to figure out how to bring in more role play to a wandering dungeon, because I could see this getting tedious eventually, so I'm working on that. I'm thinking that I need to make the Mad Mage a little more present, ala Strahd for a start. A little more cat and mouse than strictly end boss, maybe. I will think on this.

Okay, for now, I'm going to go get myself together and have more coffee. Coffee is a necessity. Everyone have a brilliant Saturday!
